But who will advance?

Wimbledon Day 3 Predictions

Iva Jović vs Tatjana Maria

Amanda
Tatjana Maria has made the most of her best surface the last few weeks, but Iva Jović is playing well and will be a test of Maria’s skills. Jović’s consistency could prove to be a viable counter to Maria’s slice-heavy game style, and Jović will likely figure out how to dictate rallies as the match wears on, giving her the advantage the longer it goes.
Prediction: Jović in 3

Jordan
Maria, a former Wimbledon semifinalist, 2025 champion at Queen’s Club, and last week’s runner-up in Eastbourne, should never be taken lightly on grass. Nonetheless, I like Jović’s chances. She has an ideal game for getting her much older opponent on the run.
Prediction: Jović in 2

Dayana Yastremska vs Jessica Bouzas Maneiro

Amanda
The natural-surface matches between Dayana Yastremska and Jessica Bouzas Maneiro have both been close three-setters. That pattern will likely continue here as both are playing solid but not particularly dominant tennis. Yastremska looked much shakier in her first-round match, giving Bouzas Maneiro the slight advantage.
Prediction: Bouzas Maneiro in 3

Jordan
Both women try to dominate the rallies with their forehands. Yastremska does it with more devastation when she is playing well. However, I have a feeling that Bouzas Maneiro will be the more solid over three sets.
Prediction: Bouzas Maneiro in 3

<smartframe-embed class="smartframe_wp_element" customer-id="b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf" image-id="WmOBGYfPRGYj" style="width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 2275px; aspect-ratio: 2275/1517;" ></smartframe-embed>

Kateřina Siniaková vs Nikola Bartůňková

Amanda
While Nikola Bartůňková has shown skill on grass in the last few weeks, she’s also shown that at times her inexperience can impact her tennis, something Kateřina Siniaková can take advantage of. Bartůňková’s tight win in the first round could give her necessary confidence, though, and she has the talent to pull off the upset, especially against a more inconsistent seed like Siniaková.
Prediction: Bartůňková in 3

Jordan
Siniaková has underachieved in the Wimbledon singles over the years. She is a really good grass-court player who could make a deep run if she consistently plays at her best. The Czech will beat Bartůňková if she performs reasonably well.
Prediction: Siniaková in 2

Mirra Andreeva vs Barbora Krejčíková

Amanda
In what will likely be the best match of the second round, Mirra Andreeva faces the toughest unseeded player in the draw in the form of Barbora Krejčíková. Krejčíková looked dominant in her opening round and is obviously comfortable at Wimbledon, as a former champion. Still, Andreeva might be the most confident player in the draw and has the tools to contend with Krejčíková’s crafty playstyle.
Prediction: Andreeva in 3

Jordan
Krejčíková’s best chance against Andreeva is probably on grass. The 2024 champion can use her variety to try and get the recent French Open winner out of rhythm. Overall, though, I feel Andreeva is in a great place right now and will handle this challenge.
Prediction: Andreeva in 2

Main Photo Credit: Susan Mullane – Imagn Images

The second round of Wimbledon is upon us, and it is already looking like we could be in store for another frenzied Grand Slam.
