Marie Bouzkova is trying to make herself a true WTA Wimbledon contender. Her run to the Nottingham championship gave her a 6-1 record on grass this year and boosted her WTA ranking into the top 25. Talia Gibson, comparatively, has a 2-4 record on grass this year and a No. 58 world ranking. Bouzkova looks dangerous and will try to get through the first few matches, which would enable her to potentially play a higher seed midway through the tournament. Bouzkova wants to get that chance to make a real run at the All-England Club. Can Gibson surprise everyone and halt that journey before it even begins?

Best Bet to Make

This feels like an uncomplicated match. Bouzkova is the higher-ranked player. She is in better form at the moment. She is the better grass player with a recent grass tournament title under her belt. She has everything going for her and should be able to demonstrate clear superiority in this match. There’s no real angle from which to make a pro-Gibson bet. It’s just a matter of whether you value the set spread or game spread. The set spread is usually the less complicated way of doing things.

That being said, betting on Bouzkova winning 2:0 is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: Bouzkova winning 2:0 @1.91 @1xbet

Boulter – Grant: Time 6:00 EST

H2H: 0-0

Katie Boulter will play before a supportive British crowd in this WTA Wimbledon first-round match against Tyra Caterina Grant. Boulter is 3-2 in five grass matches this season. Notably, however, she has beaten some really good grass tennis players such as Elena Rybakina. She can play on grass. Grant played 26 clay matches earlier this season and came into Wimbledon qualifying as a mystery on grass. Would she be able to carry her strong clay form to grass? She certainly did, winning three straight matches to qualify for the main draw. Will Grant be able to play well against a higher-level opponent?

Best Bet to Make

Grant showed she can play well on grass, not just clay, but Boulter is a much better and more experienced grass tennis player than what Grant faced in qualifying last week. Boulter beat Elena Rybakina on grass. That shows how well she knows how to handle lawn tennis and the way the court plays. She should be able to establish the upper hand on Grant and maintain it. Boulter in straight sets has a great price. It’s a very attractive bet to make.

That being said, betting on Boulter winning 2:0 is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: Boulter winning 2:0 @2.00 @1xbet

Day – Keys: Time 6:00 EST

H2H: 1-1

Madison Keys is a real contender at this WTA Wimbledon tournament. She received what looks like a very good draw on paper. Elena Rybakina is the No. 2 seed and is obviously a talented player, but she is struggling right now. Keys is in Rybakina’s quarter and could make a real run at the All-England Club. Keys, who is a major champion (2025 Australian Open), knows how to handle major tournaments. She knows how to deal with two full weeks of championship tennis and manage her emotions. She comes into the first round having just won the WTA Eastbourne title, giving her confidence and form for the coming weeks. Her first-round opponent is Kayla Day, who won three matches in qualifying to reach the main draw.

Best Bet to Make

The price for Madison Keys winning in straight sets is small, so there’s no use making that your main bet on this match. You can fold it into a parlay for sure, but it’s not worth enough on its own. The game spread is where you can find value here. The two evenly-priced spreads are 5.5 games and 6.5 games. You could try to middle your bets and cash two tickets instead of just one, with Keys -5.5 games priced at 1.75 and Day +6.5 games at 1.68. These are two good bets to choose from. Our official recommendation is Day +6.5 only because Keys might be slightly mentally drained after winning Eastbourne. She might start slowly enough for the final score to be something like 6-4, 6-3 or 7-5, 6-4.

That being said, betting on Day +6.5 games is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: Day +6.5 games @1.68 @unibet

Main Photo Credit: Susan Mullane-USA TODAY Sports

WTA Wimbledon first-round play continues on Tuesday.
