Two additional wild cards will be named ahead of the tournament, but who made the cut in the initial list?

Six ATP Players Receive Wimbledon Wild Cards

Three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka is set to mark his final appearance at Wimbledon and will do so as a wild card. It is also his final chance of completing the career Grand Slam, having triumphed at the Australian Open, French Open, and US Open in the past. Goran Ivanisevic remains the only wild card in the Open Era to win a Grand Slam, doing so at Wimbledon in 2001.

Joining Wawrinka will be former semifinalist, Grigor Dimitrov. The Bulgarian was on the verge of pulling off one of the greatest shocks in the tournament’s history when he led Jannik Sinner by two sets to love in the fourth round of the 2025 edition until injury cruelly forced him to retire from the match. It is only fitting that the All England Club offered the former world No. 3 a route back into the main draw.

Four British players take up the remaining slots. Jacob Fearnley deservedly gets one. The 24-year-old was a Top 50 player at this time last year after capturing the Nottingham Challenger. But he was sidelined because of a rib injury earlier in the spring and exited the top 100.

<smartframe-embed class="smartframe_wp_element" customer-id="b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf" image-id="WmOBAI8Qf6ZY" style="width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 4411px; aspect-ratio: 4411/2942;" ></smartframe-embed>

French-born Briton Arthur Fery has also been granted a wild card. He will make his fourth successive main draw appearance at Wimbledon. Fery made waves at this year’s Australian Open, where he qualified for the tournament and knocked out Flavio Cobolli in the first round.

Two-time ATP Challenger champion Jack Pinnington Jones will return to the Wimbledon main draw. Last year, Pinnington Jones upset Argentina’s Tomas Martin Etcheverry for his maiden Wimbledon victory.

23-year-old Toby Samuel is rewarded for his fine work on the Challenger Tour. He has lifted two titles at that level in 2026 and recently made his Top 150 debut. Samuel will play in the Wimbledon main draw for the first time.

Nick Kyrgios Receives Wimbledon Doubles Wild Card

Notable inclusions in the doubles draw include Nick Kyrgios, who will team up with Alexander Bublik. The Australian is expected to play on the lawns at SW19 for the first time since losing to Novak Djokovic in the 2022 singles final.

British veteran Dan Evans was snubbed a singles wild card at Queen’s, but he has been given one in Wimbledon doubles in what will be the final tournament of his professional career. Evans will partner with fellow Brit Henry Searle.

First big batch of Wimbledon wild cards released:

Venus and Serena get a wild card into women’s doubles together, but neither has a singles wild card so far (and there’s only one women’s spot left).

Chwalinska got one for women’s singles; six others to low-ranked Brits. pic.twitter.com/B54kukkFso

— Ben Rothenberg (@BenRothenberg) June 16, 2026

Main Photo Credit: Susan Mullane-USA TODAY Sports

With less than two weeks until the 2026 Wimbledon Championships begin, the first batch of men’s singles wild cards has been announced.
