Players spend most of their time training on hardcourt or clay, so this is the time of year when they need to get real-world experience on grass. Advancing at this tournament is important. Noskova has not played a match since the French Open. She wanted to rest during the first week of the grass season and come to Berlin fresh to begin her preparations for Wimbledon. Zarazua has won two qualifying matches in Berlin to get into the main draw and earn this chance to play Noskova. She had been struggling recently but might be picking up some good form. It will be interesting to see how Noskova, having had time off, fares against an opponent who has played multiple matches in the past few days and might therefore be in better rhythm at this tournament and on this particular playing surface.

Best Bet to Make

Noskova moneyline won’t offer much of a price to consider as a single bet, so you can put Noskova moneyline into a parlay. In terms of a single bet, the 5.5-game spread is evenly priced on both sides at 1xbet. We are going to lean to Zarazua here mostly because Noskova’s lack of match play should leave her rusty enough that she won’t be at the height of her effectiveness. She might be just sluggish enough that Zarazua can keep this match reasonably close. A 6-3, 6-4 scoreline means Zarazua cashes. We’re going to go in that direction with our recommended best bet.

That being said, betting on Zarazua +5.5 games is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: Zarazua +5.5 games @1.83 @1xBet

Zhang – Muchova: Time 6:30 EST

H2H: 0–2

Shuai Zhang faces Karolina Muchova. The health of Karolina Muchova is often a key question to watch for if you bet on tennis. Muchova lost to Jil Teichmann at Roland-Garros on a day when she needed medical attention during the match. It is risky to bet on Muchova just because she has been affected by so many different injuries in her career. Now, with close to three full weeks off before this match, it will be important to see if Muchova looks basically healthy or not. Will she be sluggish, or will she be ready to play well? Zhang is 4-1 on grass, having won multiple qualifying matches to get into the main draw in Berlin.

Best Bet to Make

Zhang has won four grass matches over the past week and a half, but none of those wins have come against especially good players. Muchova is a top-15 player and someone who is really strong when she is healthy. We advise you to get really precise information on Muchova’s health before you bet, but if you are convinced that Muchova is healthy and should be ready to perform at a high level, it makes sense to bet on her to win in straight sets against Zhang, a clearly inferior opponent if we are looking at talent and overall quality.

That being said, betting on Muchova winning 2:0 is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: Muchova winning 2:0 @2.00 @bet-at-home

Siniakova – Masarova: Time 8:00 EST

H2H: 0–1

Katerina Siniakova faces Rebeka Masarova. Siniakova is ranked over 100 spots higher than Masarova (34 to 141). However, Masarova has collected a lot of grass match victories so far this month, already piling up seven wins. She played in the Birmingham WTA 125 event and won five matches there, two in the qualifying rounds, to eventually make the semifinals. She then won two qualifying matches in Berlin to get to the main draw. Siniakova also had to go through qualifying in Berlin and won two matches. She did not play the week before, instead choosing to get some rest. Can Masarova’s hot grass form carry into this match against a much higher-ranked opponent?

Best Bet to Make

Masarova’s match wins are impressive and certainly important. However, they have not come against high-level opponents. Siniakova is a top-35 player, clearly a few notches better than the players Masarova has defeated on grass over the past week and a half. Keep in mind that Alexandra Eala, who is ranked No. 33 in live rankings (as of Monday night), beat Masarova in the Birmingham semifinals. That’s a player ranked very close to Siniakova. We would recommend that you fold Siniakova moneyline into a parlay, but then bet on Siniakova winning in straight sets as your standalone wager.

That being said, betting on Siniakova winning 2:0 is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: Siniakova winning 2:0 @2.15 @bet-at-home

Main Photo Credit: Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

The WTA Berlin first-round action continues on Tuesday.
