Kalinskaya has even had a solid clay season this year, but she hasn’t been at Potapova’s level. Potapova has a final, a semifinal, and a round-of-16 showing in her last three tournaments before the WTA French Open. Kalinskaya’s best finish during this same window was a quarterfinal finish in Charleston. She’s not going to get the benefit of the doubt in this match, either.

Best Bet to Make

As I said, Kalinskaya is a 1.2-point underdog despite being 2-0 against Potapova. It’s not hard to see why the books have Potapova as the favorite in this match. It’s also been four years since their last meeting, and their qualifying-round meeting in Cincinnati back in 2022 was a long time ago for both players. Much has changed since that meeting, and that goes for both players.

That being said, betting on Potapova winning 2:0 is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: Potapova winning 2:0 @2.30 @WilliamHill

Keys – Shnaider: Time 6:30 EST

H2H: 3-0

While Madison Keys is 3-0 in her rivalry with Diana Shnaider, it’s not like any of those wins have come easily. Their meeting this year in Brisbane went to a tie-break in every set of their three-set war. Their 2025 Queen’s Club quarterfinal match also went three sets. You have to go back to 2024 to find the last time Keys won in straight sets against Shnaider. While Keys was a bridesmaid in Paris, she proved with her win over Victoria Mboko in the last round that she won’t be an easy out at Roland-Garros either. Shnaider has a semifinal and a quarterfinal to her name in 2026.

Best Bet to Make

Keys is a savvy veteran of the French Open. She’s 11-3 on clay this year and 109-57 overall on the surface. Shnaider is no slouch on clay, though. She checks in at 97-37 overall on clay. If you check the numbers, Shnaider has 12 fewer wins than Keys, but is also rocking 20 fewer losses. I think this is a match that goes three sets, so I would be inclined to take the over on 2.5 sets for a fair return on several sites.

That being said, betting on over 2.5 sets is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: over 2.5 sets @2.38 @Unibet

Chwalinska – Parry: Time 7:00 EST

H2H: 0-0

Maja Chwalińska might not be a huge name on the tour, but she’s found a lane for herself on the WTA tour. Chwalinska has one WTA title in 2026, on clay in Oeiras. She also has a semifinal appearance in addition to several other quarterfinal appearances. Diana Parry wasn’t going to be outdone. She added a 2026 clay tournament title to her name right before the French Open by winning WTA Paris over Madison Keys. You’ll remember that I was quite bullish on Keys, so you can definitely consider that a good win.

Best Bet to Make

Even though Parry is the higher-ranked player in the World rankings and has the more recent title, she is the underdog in this match by almost a full point. I think the smart thing to do in this match is to play it straight. It doesn’t matter whether you’re taking the Pole or the Frenchwoman; taking the winner straight is the smartest way to ensure a reasonable return. I like taking Chwalinska to win, easy as that.

That being said, betting on Chwalinska winning is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: Chwalinska winning @1.58 @1xBet

Sabalenka – Osaka: Time 14:15 EST

H2H: 5-1

Aryna Sabalenka is in pursuit of her fourth tournament title of 2026 and her first Major. After falling short to Elena Rybakina in the Australian Open, Sabalenka remains the highest-ranked competitor left in the tournament and the only individual remaining from the top five seeds. She’s in a fantastic position to win her fifth Major overall, but her first French Open. In fact, the only clay tournament Sabalenka has ever won was WTA Madrid, and she’s won that three times, most recently last year. Naomi Osaka hasn’t won a Major since 2021, though she did win a clay tournament in 2025.

Best Bet to Make

It’s not a question of whether Sabalenka is going to win this match; it’s a question of by how much. While Osaka did win their only Major meeting before 2026, that was the 2018 US Open, and these two women were in much different places then. They did meet on clay earlier this year in Madrid, and that match went three sets, but only the first set was competitive. That was also the only set Osaka won. The other two sets saw Osaka win a combined five games. I would expect Sabalenka to take the lessons learned from that match and apply them here in what will amount to a beatdown.

That being said, betting on Sabalenka winning 2:0 is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: Sabalenka winning 2:0 @1.7 @Bet365

Main Photo Credit: Susan Mullane-USA TODAY Sports

The WTA French Open Round of 16 continues play on Monday.
