The weather in Paris has been very hot and is expected to stay that way for the next few days. Players will need to manage matches well. By the time the second round ends late Thursday night, the field will be down to 32 for the coming weekend. LWOS has our best bets for three matches on Wednesday. Snigur is ranked World No. 93, Stearns No. 78. That’s not a massive difference in overall ranking, but Stearns is being priced as a very clear-cut favorite at 1.48 on the moneyline. Why might this be the case? Maybe it’s because Stearns scored a straight-set first-round victory over Sofia Kenin. However, Snigur was able to defeat Clara Tauson in the first round. The markets could be reacting to the fact that Tauson barely played heading into the French Open because of recurring back problems. Snigur’s victory might therefore mean little as far as the markets are concerned.

Best Bet to Make

The Snigur win over Tauson probably did have something to do with Tauson’s lack of full health, but Snigur still did take advantage of a good situation. When people consider betting on sports, they have to ask themselves if an athlete or team can be trusted. Snigur earned some trust with that win over Tauson. Peyton Stearns beat Sofia Kenin, who has been struggling as a singles player for some time. That’s a decent win but not an amazing one. Stearns is 3-4 in her last seven matches and is not playing well enough to be priced as such a heavy favorite. Snigur should be able to win at least one set, and given the prices for this match, that will pay reasonably well. You could even go for the Snigur moneyline, but Snigur +1.5 sets is a lot safer.

That being said, betting on Snigur +1.5 sets is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: Snigur +1.5 sets @1.73 @Coral

Kostyuk – Volynets: Time 7:00 EST

H2H: 0–1

Marta Kostyuk faces Katie Volynets. Marta Kostyuk is one of the hottest players on tour right now. She won in Rouen and Madrid. She hasn’t lost a match since Miami in late March. She has found a comfort zone on clay and is not showing signs of slowing down. She easily beat Oksana Selekhmeteva in the first round. Katie Volynets is 3-2 in her last five matches. She blew out Clara Burel in the first round. It will be interesting to see if Volynets’ form can rise to give Kostyuk a real challenge.

Best Bet to Make

The winning streak created by Marta Kostyuk is hard to ignore. She is red-hot right now, and it seems foolish to bet against her if she is playing a lower-ranked opponent. Volynets’ win in the first round came against Clara Burel, a player ranked outside the top 1,000. It is hard to place a lot of value on that particular result. It’s easy to place value on Kostyuk winning every match she has played since her 2026 clay season began. You won’t get a great price on Kostyuk winning in straight sets, so you need to go with the game spread. Kostyuk should be able to cover a moderately-sized spread.

That being said, betting on Kostyuk -5.5 games is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: Kostyuk -5.5 games @1.83 @1xBet

Svitolina – Quevedo: Time 7:30 EST

H2H: 0–0

Elina Svitolina faces Kaitlin Quevedo. Svitolina came to Paris after winning the Rome title. She is one of the main contenders in this tournament, but she didn’t play like a contender in the first round against Anna Bondar. Svitolina fell behind 3-1 in the third set. She rallied for a 5-3 lead but then lost the next three games and fell behind 6-5. She forced a final-set tiebreaker and was finally able to cross the finish line. She won, but only barely, and she didn’t play well. Now let’s see how Svitolina responds in the second round against Kaitlin Quevedo, who defeated Leolia Jeanjean in the first round.

Best Bet to Make

This match is all about whether Elina Svitolina plays better after her first-round scare against Bondar, or if she remains nervous and unsteady in the face of big pressure. Svitolina is known as a player who does well in the 1,000-point tournaments but feels pressure and gets tight in major tournaments. That tendency was affirmed in her shaky performance against Bondar. Winning a very close match could loosen up Svitolina, or she could continue to struggle. We think Svitolina will play a much cleaner match. She was probably dealing with first-match jitters against Bondar and should be able to settle in here against Quevedo. You won’t get a good price for Svitolina winning in straight sets, so you need to go with the game spread. Svitolina will cover it.

That being said, betting on Svitolina -6.5 games is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: Svitolina -6.5 games @1.88 @1xBet

Main Photo Credit: Mike Frey-USA TODAY Sports

The WTA French Open competition moves into the second round on Wednesday.
