The weather in Paris has been very hot and is expected to stay that way for the next few days. Players will need to manage matches well. They will need to be efficient and take advantage of opportunities when they can. The second round contains a field of 64 players. By the time the second round ends late Thursday night, the field will be down to 32 for the coming weekend. LWOS has our best bets for three matches on Wednesday. This is a really interesting match to think about from a betting standpoint. Wang is ranked close to 60 spots higher than Korpatsch and has a 3-0 head-to-head advantage. Korpatsch has never won this matchup in three tries. Yet, Korpatsch has 15 clay match wins this year compared to just five for Wang. Plus, Korpatsch is 4-1 in her last five matches, while Wang is just 2-3 in her last five. There are lots of conflicting data points, giving bettors plenty to consider on both sides of this wager.

Best Bet to Make

The information available for this match gives bettors plenty of choices. It’s easy to create an argument for betting on either player. You could therefore go with the over 2.5 sets bet, trusting that one way or the other, the match will go three sets. However, we think that Korpatsch’s recent good form, combined with 15 clay match wins this year, puts her in really good position to win outright. The head-to-head for Wang is not to be ignore, but the last meeting between these players was in 2024, two full years ago. Korpatsch moneyline offers solid value, too. It’s a simpler bet to win than over 2.5 sets, so that’s our official play.

That being said, betting on Korpatsch winning is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: Korpatsch winning @2.05 @Pinnacle

McNally – Bencic: Time 5:00 EST

H2H: 0–0

Caty McNally faces Belinda Bencic. McNally scored one of the biggest comebacks in the first round of this French Open. She was down a set and 3-0 to Ajla Tomljanovic, but somehow found a way to come all the way back and win in three sets. Will that comeback give her a lot of confidence for the second round, or will McNally run out of steam? Bencic looked very solid in her first-round match, a straight-set win over Sinja Kraus. We will see if Bencic can carry that level of form into this battle against McNally.

Best Bet to Make

The fact that McNally did not play well in the first two sets of her match against Tomljanovic makes it hard to take a pro-McNally position on this match. Bencic looked really good against Kraus and should be able to control this match against a lower-ranked player. Bencic struggles against elite players. She usually falls short when the level of competition rises significantly. Against lower-ranked opponents, however, Bencic should be able to play the way she wants to. McNally easily could have lost in straight sets in the first round. She will probably lose in straight sets here.

That being said, betting on Bencic winning 2:0 is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: Bencic winning 2:0 @1.82 @1xBet

Golubic – Parks: Time 6:30 EST

H2H: 0–1

Viktorija Golubic faces Alycia Parks. The two players are separated by just three spots in the WTA world rankings (Golubic No. 82, Parks No. 79), so it makes sense that the betting markets have this priced close to a toss-up, with Golubic being a slight favorite. Golubic beat Panna Udvardy in the first round, a solid win, but Parks scored the even bigger result in the first round, upsetting top-30 opponent Leylah Fernandez. Both players have reason to be confident, but Parks played the better first-round match if we are going to compare the two.

Best Bet to Make

When it’s hard to choose between two players on the moneyline and their levels of form are not that different, the over 2.5 sets bet comes into play. Both players are 3-2 in their last five matches, so there is not a big difference in current form. This looks and feels like a match which is likely to go the distance. If you bet on tennis regularly, you know that over 2.5 sets will always bring a pretty good price, usually better than 2.30. That is the case here. Go with the bet on a three-set match, because that scenario is highly realistic here.

That being said, betting on over 2.5 sets is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: over 2.5 sets @2.36 @Betsson

Main Photo Credit: Mike Frey-USA TODAY Sports

The WTA French Open competition moves into the second round on Wednesday.
