It\u2019s time for the final at WTA Strasbourg, and it features two women well inside the top forty in the World. Victoria Mboko not only has this weekend\u2019s final in Strasbourg to consider, but she will be playing in the first round of the WTA French Open first thing next week. This also applies to Emma Navarro. Will one of the women concede this final to save their energy for the Major, or will both ladies give it their all? Victoria Mboko continues to prove that she\u2019s going to be among the best in the World for quite some time, as this is her third final of the year, and her first on clay. Mboko is currently 0-2 in finals. She lost to Mirra Andreeva and Karolina Muchova in her first two finals, but Emma Navarro isn\u2019t at their level of play. Mboko is 22-7 overall in 2026, and she\u2019s currently 3-1 on clay. She\u2019s 47-24 all-time on clay, and the lowest-ranked player Mboko has lost to in 2026 was No. 56 in the World, Caty McNally.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Following a quarterfinal appearance at WTA Adelaide to start 2026, WTA Strasbourg is the only other time Emma Navarro has reached a tournament quarterfinal. It has not been Navarro\u2019s year, and she checks in at just 9-11 overall. While her showing in Strasbourg has been strong, one has to wonder if she\u2019s going to be able to keep pace with Mboko in the final. Mboko has been playing competition well above Navarro\u2019s level. This presents Navarro with as good of an opportunity as she is going to get in 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both women are extremely competent players, and both women have a 2:1 win-loss ratio on clay. Navarro has played more matches, but Mboko is usually playing for more titles. That said, Mboko has yet to win a title this year, and losing to Navarro would be yet another sign that she\u2019s lost a step since last year. I definitely think this is Mboko\u2019s match to lose, but Navarro is more than capable of taking home the crown if Mboko isn\u2019t prepared.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Best Bet to Make<\/b><\/p>\n

There are several ways to come out on top here, but only a few of them are going to see any return. Mboko is a great player, but we also need to account for Navarro’s abilities as well. This is likely to be a back-and-forth affair, with the younger, quicker player separating herself as the match progresses. I think -3 games is a fair representation of the skillsets in this match. Mboko should pull away late, but expect Navarro to make her earn it. You can get a solid return for this bet on a few sites.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
