Players who did not do well in Madrid will try to bounce back in Rome and gain some momentum on clay before moving to Paris later in May. There’s a lot to play for in Rome. Let’s look at three matches on the Monday card.

WTA Rome

Townsend – Sramkova: Time 8:00 EST

H2H: 0-0

Taylor Townsend and Rebecca Sramkova will lock horns for the first time in their careers. Townsend has one solid showing this year, and it came in Austin. She’s easily a much better doubles player than a singles player, but she’s by no means an awful singles player. Sramkova has played a solid number of tournaments this year, but she’s not making any real progress. Her lone quarterfinal finish in Oeiras is her best.

Best Bet to Make

This is a pretty competitive match, and I do think the lines are close for a reason. Townsend is not really a great clay player, but Sramkova has played a lot of clay matches, winning way more than she loses. For those reasons, I really think Sramkova is the smarter pick here. You don’t even have to mess around with game spreads, over/unders, or a correct score. Just take her straight up.

That being said, betting on Sramkova winning is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: Sramkova winning @2.12 @Unibet

Ricci – Korpatsch: Time 8:00 EST

H2H: 0-0

Beatrice Ricci isn’t even close to her opponent in the World rankings, and largely doesn’t even play the same level of tennis. Checking in at No. 659 in the World, Ricci is playing in her first WTA event of the entire year. She has had a pretty solid 2026. It’s just that she’s simply on a different level than Tamara Korpatsch, but not going the way she would prefer. Korpatsch is just inside the top 100 players in the World, but her 2026 isn’t going as well as her 2025.

Best Bet to Make

There’s no mystery here at all. I won’t even keep you in suspense. Korpatsch is going to win this match with the greatest of ease. The only big question left is how convincingly she will win. The way to make money off Korpatsch is by taking her via a game spread. I like +6.5 games.

That being said, betting on Korpatsch +6.5 games is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: Korpatsch +6.5 games @2.10 @10Bet

Pavlyuchenkova – Erjavec: Time 8:00 EST

H2H: 0-0

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova is a whopping 2-7 in 2026. It would be entirely fair to say that she seems to run into a decent player in her first match of almost every tournament, and they haven’t gone her way. It would also be fair to say that she hasn’t been a pushover in those matches. Veronika Erjavec is 16-12 this year, but she’s also just coming off a clay final loss in Huzhou. She also has two other clay semifinal appearances.

Best Bet to Make

I gotta be honest about the lines on this match: they’re a little wild given the facts.
