Will the Italian overcome Alexander Zverev for the 10th time to lift the title in the Spanish capital?

ATP Madrid Final Prediction

Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Zverev

Head-to-head: Sinner 9-4 Zverev

Jannik Sinner’s comprehensive straight sets victory over Arthur Fils secured his spot in the Madrid Open final. It was also his 27th consecutive win in a Masters tournament. Sinner has now reached the final at all nine Masters 1000 tournaments, a feat that places him in the company of the Big 3.

But at 24, Sinner is the youngest man to do so since this category was incepted over three decades ago. Sinner is now four wins away from tying Djokovic’s record of 31st successive wins at Masters events. The Italian has won seven of the nine Masters tournaments at least once in his career, with Madrid and Rome titles missing in his trophy cabinet. In the exceptional form he is in, Sinner could become the first man to win five Masters titles in a row.

While the recent head-to-head has been largely lopsided, Alexander Zverev has every reason to feel confident of spoiling the party. The German has played in three finals at the Madrid Open and lifted two titles. He has beaten some of the very best on this court, including 22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal and Dominic Thiem.

The 29-year-old produced another composed performance to down NextGen star Alexander Blockx 6-2 7-5 to reach his first final of 2026. He has dropped just two sets in his run to the final.

Zverev has owned Madrid’s altitude in the past and he possesses an excellent track record at this event. He’s been able to strike through the court with ease. But that rhythm has always been disrupted in the past eight matches against Sinner. And worryingly for Zverev, he’s won just two sets out of the last 19 in this matchup.

Even though the conditions should suit Zverev to make this competitive, Sinner hasn’t shown any real drop-off. Expect the World No. 1 to add another Masters to his collection.

Prediction: Sinner in 3

History is on the line as Jannik Sinner bids to win a record-breaking fifth consecutive Masters 1000 title at ATP Madrid.
