The smaller event is in Rouen, but the stars come to Germany to test their games before heading to Madrid for the two-week 1,000-point tournament everyone will be watching. We are likely to see high-profile matchups later in the week in Stuttgart, but the early rounds carry some intrigue, too. Let’s look at the matches on Wednesday, with the top players beginning their week after a first-round bye.

WTA Stuttgart

Swiatek – Siegemund: Time 18:30

H2H: 2-0

Iga Swiatek begins her Stuttgart campaign against Laura Siegemund. Siegemund went a few weeks without playing a tour match, but she was able to shake off some rust and win her first-round match against Viktoriya Tomova, so she should feel prepared for this match. Swiatek has been slumping this year. She has fallen to No. 4 behind Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, and Coco Gauff. Clay gives her a chance to restart her season and play better tennis.

Best Bet to Make

Siegemund has played a match this week, whereas Swiatek has been inactive for a while. Swiatek is probably going to be rusty to some degree. She’s obviously the better player, but after a long layoff, she might not be especially sharp here. Siegemund, a German, will be playing in front of a home crowd, but Swiatek is a popular player who will certainly have some fans in the arena. That might not be too much of an issue, but Siegemund figures to be reasonably comfortable. She will probably be able to make this match reasonably close. Swiatek might be getting a little too much built-in credit due to how strong she is on clay. Her lack of form and her long layoff might affect this particular match. Seigemund +7.5 games allows for Swiatek’s dominance while still holding some faith in Siegemund.

That being said, Siegemund +7.5 games is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: Siegemund +7.5 games @1.80 @bet-at-home

Parks – Noha Akugue: Time 14:00

H2H: 0-0

Alycia Parks faces Noma Noha Akugue. Parks is ranked just inside the top 100, Noha Akugue just inside the top 200, so there is roughly a 100-spot ranking difference between the two players. Neither player has been especially impressive over the past month, but both players have won their last two matches. Parks won her two matches in Stuttgart qualifying. Noha Akugue won her last two matches at the Billie Jean King Cup. These players are following similar paths, so it will be interesting to see if they can carry this past weekend’s match wins into this Stuttgart match.

Best Bet to Make

The smart strategy here is to trust Parks, given that she is a much higher-ranked player than Noha Akugue. Parks isn’t having a terrific season, but she generally plays tougher competition as a product of being ranked high enough to play some of the bigger tournaments, certainly more than what Noha Akugue has been able to do in recent months. That quality of competition should help Parks elevate her game.

That being said, Parks winning is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: Parks winning @1.56 @pinnacle

Ostapenko – Andreeva: Time 17:00

H2H: 0-0

Jelena Ostapenko plays Mirra Andreeva in a very interesting Wednesday match. Ostapenko lost in the quarterfinals of Linz to Elena Gabriela Ruse. Andreeva, who had been enduring a tough 2026 tennis season, bounced back to win the Linz title. Now in Stuttgart, will Andreeva maintain momentum, or will she be tired after a full week of tennis last week? Ostapenko is one of the most unpredictable players on tour, so this match probably comes down to which version of Andreeva we will see.

Best Bet to Make

The play here is to bet on a close match. Andreeva is the better player and will probably win, but fatigue after winning Linz might set in enough for Ostapenko to win one set. Ostapenko isn’t consistent, but she is often good enough to win a set and make matches difficult for good opponents. Andreeva might win in straights, but her long week of tennis makes it a little harder to trust that bet in this situation.

That being said, Ostakpenko +1.5 sets is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds: Ostapenko +1.5 sets @1.88 @unibet

Main Photo Credit: Susan Mullane-Imagn Images

The WTA Stuttgart tournament is the bigger of the two WTA events this week.
