The ATP Den Bosch Open is into Day 3, and after a lot of matches getting suspended due to rain on Day 2, we have fewer matches than anticipated on Day 3. Just the two Round of 16 matches on schedule, and as ever, we preview and predict both the scheduled matches for you. But who will advance?
ATP Den Bosch Day 3 Predictions
Benjamin Bonzi vs Ugo Humbert
Head-to-head – Bonzi 2-0 Humbert
Both players played well in their respective first-round matches, with Benjamin Bonzi taking out the Dutch wild card Mees Rottgering, and Ugo Humbert getting the better of Elias Ymer.
Grass definitely suits Humbert’s game style more than Bonzi’s. Humbert serves big and is not shy to come to the net, which should give him a significant advantage over Bonzi, who prefers to hang back on the baseline. Surprisingly, Bonzi leads the head-to-head 2-0, but they last met in 2022, and a lot has happened since. Humbert has matured a lot since, while Bonzi has failed to make a lasting impression on the singles tour.
Expect most of the rallies to see Humbert being more aggressive and mixing it up, which should frustrate Bonzi mentally. Humbert should be winning the battle of the Frenchmen at the Rosmalen Championships.
Prediction: Humbert in 2
Alex de Minaur vs Martin Damm
Head-to-head – First Meeting
Alex de Minaur will be disappointed with how his clay court sojourn ended at the French Open. The Australian will look to the grass-court season to reset his 2026 season, and this week is a great opportunity for the second seed. He takes on Martin Damm, who should not be causing major problems for the Australian.
Damm expectedly serves big and well, and while that will help him secure easy service games, de Minaur is as speedy as they come, and his sustained pressure from the baseline will likely break the spirit of Damm.
Expect de Minaur to put up a strong performance.
Prediction: de Minaur in 2
