ATP Marseille Final Prediction: Grigor Dimitrov vs Ugo Humbert

Grigor Dimitrov in action ahead of the ATP Metz Open.

The curtains of the ATP Open 13 in Marseilles drop Sunday and we have yet another French finalist squaring up against arguably the most in-form player on Tour: Grigor Dimitrov. Humbert has come of age in the sport and he is looking every inch like a player who will break into the Top #0 this season. However, to achieve that he has to go past the rock-solid Bulgarian who will be looking to grab his second title of the season. We at LWOT look forward to a titanic battle and predict who will go home with the title.

ATP Marseille Final Prediction

Grigor Dimitrov vs Ugo Humbert

Head–to–Head: Dimitrov 2 vs 0 Humbert

Ugo Humbert clinically defeated Hubert Hurkacz to avenge his 3rd round loss to the Pole in Melbourne. It was his first win over the defending champion here in Marseille and it was enough to earn him a place in the final of the Open 13 where he will face an opponent, he hasn’t defeated in two attempts.

Grigor Dimitrov is in the form of his life. Apart from the shock 3rd round loss to Nuno Borges at the Australian Open, the Bulgarian has amassed a terrific ten wins on the trot, securing the title in Brisbane where he defeated Holger Rune in the final in straight sets and will be looking to add another to continue his scintillating start to this season.

Humbert will have the crowd behind him as he aims to become the first French player to win here in 7 years. The Frenchman found a way to rebuff Hurkacz’s big serves to maneuver a path to victory and will be looking for more of the same against a more formidable opponent.

The Frenchman will probably nick one set, but I’ll back Dimitrov to dig deep and disappoint the home fans as he continues his impressive start to the season.
Prediction: Dimitrov in 3
