WTA Warsaw Quarterfinal Predictions Including Iga Swiatek vs Linda Noskova

Iga Swiatek ahead of WTA Warsaw

With Karolina Muchova crashing out, just one more seed stands in Iga Swiatek’s way and she will play her next. As always, we here at LWOT will preview and predict every match. Who do you think will win?

WTA Warsaw Quarterfinal Predictions

Tatjana Maria vs Rebecca Sramkova

Head-to-head: first meeting

After taking out Karolina Muchova in a brilliant third-set comeback, Sramkova will face a player with even more variety in Tatjana Maria. The 35-year-old has enjoyed the conditions in Warsaw tremendously, dropping just four games each in matches against Natalija Stevanovic and Clara Tauson. Sramkova showed a great level at times against Muchova but consistency has been the biggest obstacle in her career so far.

Lucrezia Stefanini vs Laura Siegemund

Head-to-head: first meeting

Stefanini is playing her first tournament in Wimbledon, skipping the post-Wimbledon clay swing and focusing on hard, which has yielded results in Warsaw. The Italian has beaten Linda Fruhvirtova and Jodie Burrage in straight sets. Siegemund is also yet to drop a set in Warsaw, beating Maja Chwalinska and Zhu Lin. The German is a famously uncomfortable player to face and I believe she will go another round further here.

Heather Watson vs Yanina Wickmayer

Head-to-head: Wickmayer 3-2 Watson

Their sixth meeting will be their first in almost six years with their very first dating back to San Jose 2012. Watson had a big run last month to the semifinals of Nottingham, not really following it up in the rest of the grass season. The Brit came into Warsaw and pulled off an upset over Katerina Siniakova before taking out Yuliya Hatouka in three sets. Wickmayer continues to enjoy a strong season, winning three ITF titles on three different surfaces, getting her 40th win of the season when she beat Tereza Martincova in the second round here and dropping just ten games in Warsaw so far across that match and her first round against Nao Hibino. Wickmayer now stands on the precipice of a Top 100 return for the first time since 2018 and I believe she will seal it against her doubles partner this week.

Iga Swiatek vs Linda Noskova

Head-to-head: first meeting

Swiatek is the obvious main event here, the World No. 1 playing her home tournament. The 22-year-old has had routine wins in the first two rounds over Nigina Abduraimova and Claire Liu, now facing the only other remaining seed in the draw, 18-year-old Linda Noskova. Noskova had to battle hard in her opener, only beating Jana Fett 4-6 7-6 6-3 but getting through Viktoria Hruncakova in straight sets. Swiatek will be the overwhelming favorite once again but this should be her toughest test so far.

Prediction: Swiatek in 2
