Los Angeles, CA (July 27, 2017) –\u00a0<\/strong>New expansion team\u00a0Los Angeles FC\u00a0<\/strong>is set to name former\u00a0Swansea City\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0U.S. Men’s National Team\u00a0<\/strong>manager\u00a0Bob Bradley\u00a0<\/strong>as their head coach.<\/p>\n

LAFC To Name Bob Bradley Head Coach<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Bob Bradley is set to return to the United States as LAFC Head Coach when they begin to play in 2018. Bradley was recently the manager of\u00a0English Premier League\u00a0<\/strong>side\u00a0Swansea City where he held the post for less than three months. He was released last December. \u00a0Bradley returns to MLS for the first time since 2006, when he left formerly known\u00a0Chivas USA\u00a0<\/strong>(now being replaces by LAFC), for the United States National Team program.<\/p>\n

He held that position for five years, then went on to manage the Egyptian National Team, Norwegian club Stabaek, and French side Le Havre.<\/p>\n

Bradley’s Time in Major League Soccer<\/h2>\n

During his time in\u00a0MLS,\u00a0<\/strong>Bradley was an assistant coach under\u00a0Bruce Arena\u00a0<\/strong>at\u00a0D.C. United<\/strong> when they won back-to-back\u00a0MLS Cup<\/strong>s\u00a0<\/strong>in 1996 and 1997. Afterward, Bradley was hired as head coach for the\u00a0Chicago Fire\u00a0<\/strong>for their expansion season in 1998. He led the Fire to their best first season in league history, in which they won both the MLS Cup and\u00a0Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

After five years in Bridgeview, he went to coach the\u00a0New York MetroStars\u00a0<\/strong>(known now as the New York Red Bulls) and spent almost three full seasons at the helm before he was fired after the 2005 season. Bradley went on to coach Chivas USA, who he led to a playoff berth after a very poor expansion season.<\/p>\n

Father of\u00a0USMNT and\u00a0Toronto FC C<\/strong>aptain\u00a0Michael Bradley,\u00a0<\/strong>his resume shows a 43-25-12 record in 80 games when he was the head coach of the national team. He won the 2007\u00a0Gold Cup\u00a0<\/strong>title, finished second at the 2009\u00a0Confederations Cup,\u00a0<\/strong>and won the group before their Round of 16 exit to Ghana in the 2010\u00a0FIFA World Cup.\u00a0<\/strong>U.S. Soccer dismissed Bradley after losing 4-2 to rivals Mexico in the 2011 Gold Cup Final.<\/p>\n
