After conceding a penalty inside of ten minutes, they rallied with two goals in the second half to win 2-1. This snapped the Red Bulls four-match win-less streak and showed they have fight. There were quite a few standout performances as well.

New York Red Bulls Player Grades vs. New England Revolution

Kemar Lawrence: B+

Easily the Red Bulls’ Man of the Match. Lawrence had an absolute outstanding game on both sides of the ball. He did a perfect job shutting down New England on the wing, as well as providing the assist that led to the game-winning goal. Lawrence has been one of the Red Bulls’ most reliable defenders for a good stretch now, and it doesn’t look like that will change anytime soon.

Daniel Royer: B

Royer had one of his best performances of the season against the Revolution as well. Having a number of impressive backheels, as well as scoring the game-winner off a beautiful Kemar Lawrence cross.

Royer has easily been the most consistent midfielder the Red Bulls have had. He currently sits second on the team with four goals scored this season.

Aaron Long: B

Long continues to impress in his first season with the senior team. He has hands down been the Red Bulls best defender and did a masterful job of shutting down Kei Kamara. The normally dangerous striker for New England was anything but on Saturday evening.

Long has shown his toughness and durability, as he has logged the most minutes for the club this season.

Bradley Wright-Phillips: B-

BWP continued his highlight reel of goals against New England. After a stunning overhead kick against Toronto FC last week, he followed it up with a slick backheel goal.

However, Wright-Phillips’ night was a rather quiet one past the goal. Once again proving he only needs a slight opening to make opposition pay, the goal marks the first time BWP has scored in consecutive games all season.

Sacha Kljestan: C

Kljestan has returned to solid form on his set-piece deliveries. However, his form everywhere else has been lacking. Kljestan is still struggling in making those vital passes the squad have come to expect.

While he was able to set up the Red Bulls on many set-pieces, the rest of his game was very mediocre. The Red Bulls will need their captain to produce if they want to win any silverware this season.

Main Photo:

Embed from Getty Images

The New York Red Bulls pulled out a very gutsy win against the Revolution on Saturday.
