According to Jeremy Wilson of the Daily Telegraph, New York City FC<\/strong>\u00a0winger Jack Harrison<\/strong> is on the radar of the English FA<\/strong>, specifically the U21s. The 19-year-old\u00a0Harrison has certainly justified a call up. In his rookie season he has three assists and three goals in 16 appearances<\/a>. He has been one of NYCFC’s most exciting players, and has played much better than his basic stats suggests.<\/div>\n

Jack Harrison Background<\/h3>\n
Harrison was born in Stoke on Trent, England<\/strong>, and he was raised in Bolton<\/strong>. From 2003-2010, he was part of the\u00a0Manchester United Academy. At age 14, he made a bold decision to come to America and play at the Berkshire School<\/strong> in Sheffield,\u00a0<\/strong>Massachusetts<\/b>. While in high school, he received the Gatorade National Player of the Year<\/strong> Award. Then he went to Wake Forest and was taken number one overall by NYCFC<\/a>.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Current England U21 Squad<\/h3>\n
The England U21 squad is one of the top U21 teams in the world. The most recent squad includes players who start in the Premier League<\/strong>, like Marcus Rashford<\/strong>\u00a0of Manchester United<\/strong>, Nathan Redmond<\/strong>\u00a0of\u00a0Southampton<\/b>, Demarai Gray<\/strong>\u00a0of Leicester City<\/strong>, and Mason Holgate<\/strong>\u00a0of Everton<\/strong>. Some players also feature in the Championship, like Jack Grealish<\/strong>\u00a0of Aston Villa<\/strong>. This squad is a very talented squad and would be hard to break into. Even getting a call up would be a great feat. England U21’s next match is the beginning of October,\u00a0UEFA U21 Championships Qualifiers<\/strong>.<\/div>\n

Playing for the England U21s would be a great step for him and most likely take him away from joining the USMNT<\/strong>. It might\u00a0eventually cause him to leave NYCFC since he would likely draw the interest of bigger clubs on the other side of the pond. However, it would be a great move for his career.<\/div>\n
