United. There is a lot of truth in this with the side showing a lot of signs of promise. Spaniard <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/soccer\/2022\/03\/05\/carles-gil-penalty-revolution-fcdallas\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Carles Gil<\/a> netted the only goal of the game at Gillette Stadium against the side bringing up the rear in the Shield standings. It was somewhat of a new-look squad across the board due to various injuries.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SethMan31\/status\/1558262701859766272\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Seth Macomber reported<\/a> on this the day before the game, as follows. \u201cSources say that Gustavo Bou, Dylan Borrero, and Giacomo Vrioni will miss tomorrow&#8217;s game against D.C. United. Matt Polster was not recently seen at training.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As a result, there were two changes made to the starting XI that <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/soccer\/2022\/08\/07\/exploria-stadium-revs-orlando\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">won in Orlando last week<\/a>. Maciel and Polster made way, neither of them being in the squad at all. United made a few changes and had a debutant of their own. Icelandic midfielder Victor Palsson is the man in question. Over a decade ago, he was a player for both Liverpool and the New York Red Bulls. He joined from Bundesliga outfit Schalke and was thrust into action this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Talking of the Red Bulls and Wayne Rooney made three alterations from the side that <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/soccer\/2022\/08\/06\/red-bulls-united-draw\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">drew 0-0 with Gerhard Struber\u2019s men at Audi Field<\/a>. Brad Smith, Sofiane Djeffal, and teenager Jackson Hopkins were the trio to drop out. Palsson was one of those to enter the fray, as did legendary striker Ola Kamara and Sami Guediri.<\/p>\n<p>Arena spoke highly of the opposition too, \u201cI give D.C. United credit. Bridging the gap post-Matt Turner was a big worry for a lot involved with the Revolution yet the young Serb is continuing to exceed expectations.<\/p>\n<p>Centre-back Andrew Farrell is certainly a fan of the new man. \u201cDjordje\u2019s [Petrovic] been immense since he\u2019s gotten his minutes. He\u2019s making saves that help us stay in games and keep the clean sheets.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The first man to call him into action was Ravel Morrison. Jamaican international Morrison was with Rooney at Derby County and is a great addition for D.C. United. Petrovic is a big, imposing figure and he sprung away to his right to deny the former Manchester United man. McNamara played it over the top for the fullback to run onto and Bye then picked out his captain in space. The reigning MLS MVP did the rest, firing the ball low and hard beyond the reaches of Rafael Romo.<\/p>\n<p>The Revs came close to doubling their lead a few times. Gil had the best chance, he rounded Romo but was kept out by the post at an acute angle. The man to play him through in this instance was Noel Buck on his Revolution debut. It was a great ball with the outside of his boot and he wasn\u2019t far from notching the first assist.<\/p>\n<p>DeJuan Jones\u2019 energy created the other close call but Wilfrid Kaptoum was denied by the D.C. shot-stopper. Meanwhile, Noel Buck was sent on to replace another academy product <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/soccer\/2022\/06\/03\/damian-rivera-tico-interview\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Tico Rivera<\/a>. Buck said simply that \u201cIt was great coming on for him.\u201d He also went on to say, about the whole occasion, that \u201cIt\u2019s a dream come true.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the first time we\u2019ve won back-to-back games [this season]? I didn\u2019t know that. That\u2019s nice\u201d were the words of Arena in the post-match press conference. As well as this, the side haven\u2019t conceded in the last four goals. The first two of them were draws but with the scoring touch in the ranks again, these are six big points.<\/p>\n<p>Noel Buck was very mature in his outlook on this momentous occasion for him. \u201cTonight, I can enjoy it, enjoy that I made my debut and I played well.
