Luca Petrasso won a corner kick for TFC in the fourth minute of play. Jahkelle Marshall-Rutty passed to Jayden Nelson, who was not able to control the ball in the eighth minute.<\/p>\n<p>It looked like Toronto was playing well and not giving the Red Bulls many chances to score. However, a turnover from Jonathan Osorio resulted in the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LastWordSC\/status\/1500192775299555336\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">first goal of the game<\/a> by Lewis Morgan as Klimala got the assist. Then, in the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LastWordSC\/status\/1500196083657547784\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">second goal<\/a>, Morgan&#8217;s shot beat TFC goalkeeper Alex Bono and went into the net. Marshall-Rutty was not strong enough and Patryk Klimala overpowered him. Jacob Shaffelburg did his best. However, he was the only TFC player back as Morgan was in a one-on-one with goalkeeper Bono. Morgan shot the ball past Bono low and it was back to a two-goal game.<\/p>\n<p>Worse, was that TFC gave up the second goal in the 42-minute as they left <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LastWordSC\/status\/1500202019411447822\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Aaron Long<\/a> all alone for a free header. Then <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TorontoFC\/status\/1500202470458417153\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Shaffelberg got injured and had to be replaced to start the second half<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Second half<\/h4>\n<p>TFC defence was sleeping to start the half as they almost gave up the fifth goal to Klimsala in the 46-minute. The Red Bulls were off on the running in the 65-minute of play. Marshall-Rutty did not play well as he lost the ball forcing Bono to make that save. Toronto FC\u2019s Carlos Salcedo just get a yellow card as he avoided a red card after a further VAR review. Carlos Coronel stopped the shot of Osorio thanks to a great pass by Michael Bradley in the 74-minute. Pozuelo\u2019s cross was also stopped by Coronel. In particular, the third and fourth goals they gave up were completely avoidable. One ended with a one-on-one breakaway between the player and the keeper, and the other one was an unmarked free header. As a result, Toronto only has one point in two games as they <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/soccer\/2022\/02\/26\/bob-bradley-toronto-fc-draw\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">drew 1-1 with FC Dallas<\/a> on the road.<\/p>\n<p>This is while the Red Bulls scored seven goals in their first two MLS season road games. As a result, it was the most goals scored in franchise history. They <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/soccer\/2022\/02\/26\/red-bulls-overwhelm-san-jose-mls\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">scored three goals against the San Jose Earthquakes<\/a> on the road.<\/p>\n<p>Also, if it was not for TFC goalkeeper Alex Bono making three saves, Toronto FC would have given up more goals in the second half. The Red Bulls were on the front foot to start the second half and Morgan almost scored his fourth goal. The game will be shown live on Bally Sports North, The CW \u2013 Twin Cities against Minnesota United FC on Sunday, March 13 at 7:00 p.m. ET. The next game then will be on Sunday, March. 20 at Red Bull Arena. The team they will face will be the Columbus Crew SC at 2:00 p.m. ET. The game against Columbus will be shown on Bally Sports Great Lakes. However, his first two goals in particular were critical as the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/soccer\/2022\/03\/04\/red-bulls-toronto-fc-game-preview\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">New York Red Bulls<\/a> were not playing that well at that time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Carlos Salcedo avoided a red card.<\/strong> VAR was used for this game on Salcedo\u2019s tackle in the second half. It was a dangerous tackle that warranted a yellow card. However, it might be a borderline red card as he did make contact with the ball.
