Their first nationally televised match will be April 9th at Sporting Kansas City on FS1. The will finish out the season with a Rocky Mountain Cup home match against Real Salt Lake on October 15th then travel to play the Seattle Sounders on October 22nd.

Here’s a list of five MUST WATCH games:

April 1 vs. FC Dallas

FC Dallas beat the Rapids out for the Supporter’s Shield by a slim margin last year. This is their first meeting of the season. Last year at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, Victor Ulloa stole a point for Dallas at the death to tie the match 1-1. These two have developed a bit of a rivalry in recent years. Expect this to be a good match and a statement game for Colorado in the early season.

May 31 at LA Galaxy

The Rapids had a banner year against the Galaxy in 2016. They went 2-1-2 in all competition against the super club, beating them in the playoffs. Their lone loss was a 1-0 defeat at the StubHub Center off a lucky bounce of Axel Sjoberg’s clearance. The Galaxy could be looking for some revenge in 2017. This should be a great test on the road for the Rapids.

June 24 at Atlanta United FC

Yeah, it’s an expansion side, but Mercedez-Benz Stadium looks gorgeous. Atlanta United have a lot of exciting young foreign attackers and Tata Martino has a unique style of play compared to the rest of MLS. #PabloTactics, isn’t pretty but it is effective. It should make for an interesting clash of styles in the first ever meeting between the clubs. If nothing else, the back drop will be amazing.

July 4 vs. Seattle Sounders FC

Fourth of July. At Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. Against the MLS Cup champions who beat them in the playoffs last year. And it’ll be their first meeting of the season. Enough said.

October 15 vs. Real Salt Lake

This will be the Rapids home finale of the regular season and the last installment of the 2017 Rocky Mountain Cup. If past seasons is any indication, both teams could be fighting for a lot in this game. They could be on the outside looking in at the playoffs. They could be jostling for better seeding or even the Supporter’s Shield. If nothing else, the Rocky Mountain Cup will be on the line. This should be a barn burner.

Embed from Getty Images

COMMERCE City, CO (January 13, 2017) – The 2017 MLS Schedule has been released!
