Both players were away from the Western Conference club on\u00a0international duty.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FC Cincinnati<\/strong> dominated the game in most statistical categories through 84 minutes, but could not find\u00a0a goal to complement their good play. The match remained goalless through the first half and that\u00a0stalemate held for most of the second.<\/p>\n<p>A\u00a0breakthrough came for the home side with six minutes remaining in the match. Following\u00a0an attack that formed\u00a0down FC Cincinnati&#8217;s right side,\u00a0<strong>Sean Okoli<\/strong>\u00a0redirected an\u00a0<strong>Andrew Wiedeman<\/strong> header past Saint Louis FC goalkeeper <strong>Mark Pais<\/strong> from close range to open\u00a0the scoring.<\/p>\n<p>The Missouri side was not to be outdone though and equalized in the blink of an eye. A long throw-in from <strong>Saint Louis FC&#8217;s<\/strong> left side was contested in the box and fell\u00a0to defender <strong>Patrick Doody<\/strong>. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chicago-fire.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Chicago Fire<\/strong><\/a> loanee drove a low shot on goal which found the back of the net through traffic. <strong>Saint Louis FC<\/strong> had equalized, and it appeared the points would be shared as the match reached 90 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>The win was secured by FC Cincinnati in dramatic fashion when<strong>\u00a0Okoli<\/strong> thumped home\u00a0a stoppage time\u00a0penalty kick to secure all three points for the home side. The penalty kick was awarded for a handball in the box against\u00a0Saint Louis FC defender <strong>James Musa <\/strong>in the 93rd minute of play.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Coach <strong>John Harkes<\/strong> made the following comments in the press conference after\u00a0the match, emphasizing the importance of the fans in Monday&#8217;s victory. &#8220;The fan base actually pushed us on today. It\u2019s unlike\u00a0anything else in the league. It doesn\u2019t matter about the quantity but about the quality of the fans. It\u00a0drives the guys. It is fantastic. It really is.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=r_sTGahT4Gs\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">[FC Cincinnati]<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The win halts a recent poor run of form for the upstart Cincinnati club, who had\u00a0only one win\u00a0in the\u00a0past six games prior to this contest. The\u00a0team secured a playoff berth on August 27th, and\u00a0now has\u00a0four games left to earn\u00a0one of the top four positions in the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.uslsoccer.com\/usl-standings\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">USL&#8217;s Eastern Conference<\/a><\/strong>.
