The Canadian Premier League (CPL) announced Tuesday that Forge FC<\/a> will host York9 FC<\/a> at Tim Hortons Field<\/a> in the CPL<\/a>\u2019s inaugural match. The game is scheduled for Saturday, April 27 at 1 p.m. For fans patiently awaiting the schedule, the rest will be released at a later date.<\/p>\n

\u201cCelebrating the launch of our own national soccer league in Hamilton is extremely exciting. This match will mark the official launch of a truly Canadian professional soccer league, and it\u2019s also the beginning of another great rivalry for fans in Hamilton and the York Region\/Greater Toronto Area.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are beyond excited to kick-off our first season in Hamilton at the end of April.<\/em> Canadians have been waiting for what seems like forever for their own sanctioned professional league with clubs playing coast to coast.\u00a0There is no doubt that I share that level of excitement.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

For over a year the Canadian Premier League<\/a> has been focused on\u00a0creating a solid foundation that will help grow the game and\u00a0give fans and players a place to direct their passion for soccer.\u00a0On April 27, the CPL will begin bringing its brand of professional soccer to communities across our great country.<\/p>\n
