Crouse was the hero down south in Houston, Texas, where the North Carolina Courage managed to earn a 1-1 draw.

With the draw, the Courage remain undefeated. North Carolina sits on top of the NWSL standings with 30 points.

Crouse’s goal, which was unassisted, came in the 80th minute, in front of 2,941 fans at BBVA Compass Stadium.

Houston shocked the visitors first, with a goal from captain Kealia Ohai. The forward scored in the center of the box, on a fast break goal. Ohai went one-on-one with Courage midfielder Cari Roccaro before slotting the ball past Katelyn Rowland.

Goalkeeper Jane Campbell assisted the goal.

On his personal Twitter account after the match, Courage Head Coach Paul Riley said that he was proud of his side’s efforts.

“Truly proud of group tonight,” Riley emphasized. “Five players got their first minutes of season. It’s tough for clubs to go into opposing stadiums — especially ones like Providence Park, which garners more than 14,000 fans per game — and pull out wins. North Carolina is running away with the season.

The fight of Frannie Crouse: Their next match isn’t until June 16, but you’d have to think the North Carolina Courage will keep Frannie Crouse around. If she could score against Houston, it’s a wonder what she could do against Utah Royals FC.

You’re missing out, Jill: Jill Ellis, head coach of the U.S. Women’s National Team, must be shaking her head about leaving Jane Campbell off the roster. How often does a goalkeeper record an assist? Hardly ever. We’ll leave that where it is. Campbell had an excellent game, where she also recorded two saves.

Catch her if you can 🏃‍♀️#HOUvNC https://t.co/fbrhLQuBDr

— Houston Dash (@HoustonDash) June 4, 2018

Embed from Getty Images

HOUSTON, TEXAS (June 3, 2018) — Frannie Crouse was the name heard around the NWSL on Sunday afternoon.
