PHILADELPHIA, PA (January 22, 2018)<\/strong> – Five players joined the ranks of the Burgundy and Blue this week. The Colorado Rapids 2018 SuperDraft picks are highlighted by three forwards. <\/p>\n

Forward Depth Highlights Colorado Rapids 2018 SuperDraft Picks<\/h1>\n

The Colorado Rapids draft picks are as follows: Forward Alan Winn from the University of North Carolina, forward Frantzdy Pierrot from Coastal Carolina University, goalkeeper Thomas Olsen from the University of San Diego, midfielder Brian Iloski from the University of California Los Angeles, and forward Niki Jackson from Grand Canyon University. <\/p>\n

Winn and Pierrot are the most significant prospects in this bunch, given they were both taken in the first half of the second round. The others are likely projects the Rapids coaching staff could develop over the next few years. With the club looking to improve their offensive output in 2018, the three forwards could be part of an open competition for the last few roster spots. <\/p>\n

Olsen joins the club with just two goalkeepers under contract. He’s unlikely to get much playing time with Tim Howard and Zac MacMath there, but he could be given the opportunity to win the third goalkeeper spot and spend time in USL. <\/p>\n
