Editorial (December 6, 2018)<\/strong> – Los Angeles FC has not been messing around this off-season. Over the holidays, LAFC acquires two MLS veterans to their roster.\u00a0One of the signees is a veteran defender, Jordan Harvey. The other acquisition is a veteran\u00a0midfielder, Benny Feilhaber.<\/span><\/p>\n

LAFC Acquires Two MLS Veterans<\/h1>\n

The club acquired Jordan Harvey from free agency. Then, they grabbed Benny Feilhaber, from Sporting Kansas City<\/a> for $200,000 General Allocation Money and $200,000 in Targeted Allocation Money. A combined 20 years of MLS experience has been added to an already interesting line up for an expansion team.\u00a0<\/span>Both players are sure to wow the supporters in Banc of California Stadium in the inaugural season.<\/span><\/p>\n

What Jordan Harvey Adds<\/h2>\n

Defender, Jordan Harvey is a 13 season veteran. Most recently playing for the Vancouver Whitecaps FC with stints at the Philadelphia Union and Colorado Rapids. He leaves Vancouver with the most appearances all time. In 2016 he was awarded the honor of Whitecaps FC player of the year.<\/span><\/p>\n

With the addition of Harvey, LAFC is building up a strong back line. A back line that consists of Laurent Ziman, Walker Zimmerman, and Omar Graber.<\/span>

What Benny Feilhaber\u00a0Adds<\/h2>\n

Feilhaber brings experience with his stints in international and domestic leagues. He has played in Germany, England, and Denmark.\u00a0<\/span>In 2013, he won the MLS Cup with Sporting Kansas City and two Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cups in 2015 and 2017. Also becoming a finalist for MLS MVP in 2015. <\/span> While on the USMNT, he scored two goals in 44 appearances. With appearances in a game-winning goal against Mexico in the final of the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup, 2010 World Cup, 2005 U-20 World Cup, and 2008 Olympics. Feilhaber should be able to jump right in when he\u00a0reunites with his former coach on the National Team, Bob Bradley.<\/span>

\n<\/span>Familiarity with the coach is not all Feilhaber brings to the table. He provides productivity to the LAFC attack. Yes, he can score but it’s what he can do on and off the ball. He becomes a general in the midfield knowing exactly where to place passes and move into space for the best chance of putting the ball into the back of the net.<\/p>\n

Both have their own connections to the Los Angeles area. Feilhaber and Harvey are both natives of Southern California and dawned the blue and gold for the UCLA Bruins.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

LAFC’s Impressive Build<\/h2>\n

LAFC is proving itself to be a great tactician in offseason moves. All thanks to the genius of Executive Vice President of Soccer Operations and General Manager, John Thorington. Critics of the club thought they were satisfied with just getting Carlos Vela and manager Bob Bradley. <\/span><\/p>\n

Thorington continues to bring in talent from around the world with different ages and skills for a well-rounded roster.\u00a0<\/span>This team is ready to explode onto the scene when their first kick off in March of this year. The LAFC roster now stands at 11 players, with more to come.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
