Less than one month after defenders Jos\u00e9 Hern\u00e1ndez and Rolf Feltscher joined MLS, another Venezuelan has made the ‘American Dream’.<\/p>\n

This time it’s Junior Moreno<\/a>, a 24-year-old midfielder who was signed by D.C. United per Steven Goff of the Washington Post. He became the seventh Venezuelan player on an MLS roster for the 2018 season.<\/p>\n

Venezuelan International Junior Moreno Signs With D.C. United<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Moreno left Zulia FC after two years. He scored four goals in 94 appearances and his versatility and skills makes him a valued asset.<\/p>\n

The Venezuelan International has played four games for his national team and he made his debut assisting on a goal in a 1-1 draw against the United States in an international friendly in Sandy, UT.<\/p>\n

Moreno’s first goal with La Vinotinto came in a friendly match against Ecuador<\/a> in a 1-1 draw in Boca Raton, FL.<\/p>\n

The midfielder played as a starter in the World Cup Qualifiers against Argentina and Uruguay in the last summer, and entered as a sub at Paraguay in the last Venezuela game.<\/p>\n

Moreno joins the Costa Rican national player Ulises Segura as the two Latin American\u00a0 players signed by D.C United this offseason.<\/p>\n

Segura is a more an attacker, but Moreno can also reach the net and his ability to find teammates near goal will reinforce D.C.’s midfield as they currently have the Argentinian Luciano Acosta, who scored eight times last season, and the Americans Ian Harkes and\u00a0Russell Canouse.<\/p>\n

The Venezuelan had 87 percent in pass accuracy against Argentina in the World Cup qualifiers in 90 minutes, and 89% of passes against Uruguay with three recoveries.<\/p>\n

Zulia describes him as a key player that makes the game easier for his teammates.<\/p>\n
