CARSON, Calif. – It was another highlight reel night for Seattle Sounders FC as the Jordan Morris Express was full speed ahead. Rave Green blew out the LA Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park on Sunday night.
Jordan Morris Express: Seattle Sounders Blowout Disorganized LA Galaxy
This game turned out about as expected given the form of the two teams. Seattle were organized defensively and dynamic in transition. LA Galaxy relied on Cristian Pavon offensively. The defense was porous. Chicharito Hernandez was underwhelming.
Cristian Roldan opened the scoring just 12 minutes in. Morris and Nouhou Tolo combined on the right side to beat the high line of the Galaxy. Morris ran past Rolf Feltscher and squared the ball to the front of goal. Goalkeeper David Bingham got a hand to the ball but Roldan was there to bury the rebound, unmarked.
Morris got on the scoresheet himself in the 38th minute. Nicolas Lodeiro served up a perfect ball past the Galaxy midfield. Morris ran onto it in stride and beat Bingham on a breakaway.
Seattle poured it on right after the hour mark. João Paulo found Roldan in space with a great pass. Bingham was caught in No Man’s Land and Roldan chipped him to make it 3-0 to Seattle.
Sebastian Lletget scored a consolation goal in the 88th minute to make the final score 1-3.

Jordan Morris, Sounders rolling: Seattle are looking like an MLS Cup contender and the best team in the Western Conference. They are scoring at will. The Jordan Morris Express is full speed ahead, taking advantage of every mistake the defense makes.
Galaxy defense exposed, again: The Galaxy is bad. It’s been bad. When they’re exposed without support from the midfield and the opponent finds space with pace, they’re in trouble. This team hasn’t been able to deal with fires once they start.
Chicharito underwhelming, again: Chicharito hasn’t scored since the MLS is Back tournament. He hasn’t done much on his own nor has he made it easier for the players around him, Pavon included.
