Guatemala City – The long anticipated return of the Concacaf Champions League is finally here. Club America face-off against Guatemalan side Comunicaciones FC in the Round of 16. A match that is tipped very one sided as far as who is the favorite to advance. However, this game may be more promising than what it appears on paper.

Both teams come into this match with proper fitness. They’ve both been playing regularly since the beginning of the year in their leagues. And while many will have Club America advancing with no problems, Comunicaciones FC will put up a fight. Comunicaciones come into this match with quiet the track record behind them. In their past five games they’ve walked away with a win three times, only loosing once. A record that is very similar to that of Club America’s. Even though it is in the Guatemalan soccer league this team sits first place in their respected league, something the Coapa side should not take lightly.
On top of that the Guatemalan side are the second best scoring team in the league, scoring a total of 14 goals in eight matches. All of this will be taken into consideration by Club America manager Miguel Herrera when planning for this game on Wednesday.
Club America, while hinged with major injuries this season come into this game on good form. While the teams play style has not looked good at times, it has been effective. Las Aguilas come into this game on a three win streak in which two of those games where accompanied by a clean sheet shutout.
The team currently sit in second place in the Liga MX Clausura table as the best defensive team. This America side has seen many different formations this season and this game will prove no difference. People can expect a B sided Club America to take the pitch on Wednesday. Meaning some of the undisputed starters will be on the bench.
Miguel Herrera will utilize this game as a chance to give some of the newcomers to the team a chance to get minutes under their belts. As well as some of the other squad based players that don’t see regular minutes. Expect there to be a change in goal as Oscar Jimenez will start over Guillermo Ochoa.
