The Best We Know: Introducing a New Podcast about Women’s Soccer

Rachael Kriger, site senior editor, and her colleague and friend RJ Allen are introducing their new podcast to our site. Listen to The Best We Know, your new favorite podcast on women's soccer!
Women's Soccer

Podcast — Hello women’s soccer fans!

I’m Rachael Kriger, a senior editor at Last Word on Soccer. A colleague and friend of mine, RJ Allen, reached out to me a couple months ago with a podcast idea she had brewing in her head. RJ is a fellow National Women’s Soccer League, U.S. women’s national team and women’s soccer writer. She is the editor-in-chief of Backline Soccer, another great women’s soccer outlet.

Anyway, RJ came up with this idea to have a podcast where we talk about women’s soccer players. It’s not your normal podcast. We’re not breaking down what type of game Kelley O’Hara had against Costa Rica on a specific match day.

However, we’re looking at players at a whole, talking about their careers and diving into areas about the players that might not be touched on — previous club experiences, passionate speeches and much more.

Our show is called The Best We Know

In our first episode, we chatted about USWNT defender and star, Kelley O’Hara. Known to us as the “The Adaptable One,” O’Hara has over 100 appearances for the United States. She’s been bounced around various positions on the pitch, including in the midfield, up front on the attack and on defense. We talk about her positioning and if she can make another World Cup run.

RJ and I had perfect timing, without even knowing, in regard to our second show. We focused on Canadian legend — and current all-time leading international goal scorer — Christine Sinclair. RJ and I chat about the record, if it could ever be broken by someone else again and how we’re disgraced that Sinclair has never even been nominated for the FIFA Women’s Player of the Year title.

As always, send us recommendations on who you would like us to cover!
