SEATTLE, Wash. – Seattle Sounders FC played LA Galaxy, and the game was chaos? You don’t say. Just two weeks after playing each other in Southern California to a 2-2 draw, the Sounders got the better of their Western Conference opponents through Cristian Roldan.

Raul Ruidiaz opened the scoring at the death of the first half. Seattle were moving the ball well in the box. After a cross was cleared to Nicolas Lodeiro, he sent it back across to goal to Ruidiaz for a tap in.

Cristian Roldan made it 2-0 ten minutes into the second half, cleaning up a chance that was cleared off a corner.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored in the 66th minute with a header right off a corner from Sebastian Lletget. Goalkeeper Stefan Frei came off his line to go for the cross but the striker beat him to the ball.

Uriel Antuna tied the game in the 75th minute. Just two minutes later, Jordan Morris got the lead back for Seattle. Ruidiaz threaded a pass through the defense to send Morris in on goal to score on a one-two.

Jorgen Skjelvik tied the game four minutes later on a run into space. Diego Polenta found him with a long pass.

The Sounders found the winner one minute before stoppage time. Brad Smith and Jordan Morris combined to find Cristian Roldan wide open at the back post. The game ended 4-3.

Three Takeaways:

Goals: This game was madness with the Galaxy coming back twice to tie the game. Seven goals were scored. Both teams had the offense clicking but both have concerns at the back with Galaxy fans questioning the work rate of the outside backs and the Sounders missing the retired Chad Marshall in the air.

Playoff races: This game was a massive six-pointer in the Western Conference. The Sounders desperately needed this result especially given the good start.

Roldan plays hero: Cristian Roldan must be feeling good getting a rare brace to get the win for his team.
