Harrison, New Jersey (June 1, 2019) — In his first visit as Real Salt Lake manager, Mike Petke returned to Red Bull Arena. The New York Red Bulls, fresh off a long rest, earned seven points from the last three matches. Meanwhile, the Red Bulls kept a clean sheet and continued their winning ways against Real Salt Lake
Royer Returns
Red Bulls striker Daniel Royer returned to the starting XI following a rest for muscle tightness. Just five minutes into the match, he took his first shot on frame. Salt Lake goalkeeper Nick Rimando kick-saved to keep the ball out of the net. In the 16th minute, his shot on a free kick went over the crossbar. Then, at the 20-minute mark, Royer made another shot that went straight to Rimondo. He had a total of four shots in the first half alone. It was a matter of time until he broke through.
All Around Effort
The time off the pitch seemed to revitalize the squad. High press was in full effect. Each player found a way to be a threat, from centerbacks Amro Tarek and Tim Parker to attacking midfielders Alejandro “Kaku” Romero Gamarra and Alex Muyl. Brian White held a post among the Real Salt Lake defense. The first save Red Bulls goalkeeper Luis Robles made was deep into the first half. The only missing from the first half was a goal.

Onslaught of Goals
Determined to gain another three points, White made a good run on goal in the 52nd minute. Marc Rzatkowski and And Muyl followed suit within minutes. However, it was Murillo who opened the scoring, crossing in the ball and forcing an own goal. Royer took advantage about a minute later, slotting a shot past Rimando to double the lead.
Murillo brought the game to 3-0 off a pass from Muyl. When Tarek took a knock, rookie Sean Nealis was brought in. Red Bulls manager Chris Armas refreshed the attack, bringing in Omir Fernandez and Andreas Ivan. The pairing added to the scoresheet, with Ivan crossing the ball to Fernandez who nailed the ball into the net in the 83rd minute. With the final whistle, the Red Bulls secured another win.
