Preview: Minnesota United hopes to bounce back vs. Colorado Rapids

Minnesota United FC

Preview (June 22, 2018) – Minnesota United is returning from their 20 day MLS break to face the Colorado Rapids in Commerce City. Both teams have had pretty up and down season, especially for the Rapids with their new coach, Anthony Hudson. This game is a good matchup to measure how the rest of the season will go for both teams. Will Colorado break their winless streak or can Loons start to make a push towards a playoff spot?

What to watch for:

Will a loss put Adrian Heath on the hot seat?

With Jason Kreis being sacked this past week by Orlando City SC, it may have other MLS clubs thinking of making a coaching change. Adrian Heath brought the Loons into the league but has led them to a mediocre 15 wins, 26 losses and 7 draws. Maybe they could hire another manager with Orlando City history in Kreis?

How will Minnesota United regroup from their knockout loss in the US Open Cup on Monday?

The Loons lost a tough match against the Houston Dynamo on Monday, with a missed Darwin Quintero penalty kick being the heartbreaker. Minnesota had chances throughout the game but just could not finish them. Will they learn from the loss and start putting these chances in the back of the net?

Will the rumored acquisition of another winger light a fire under the MNUFC attack?

There has been a rumor of Minnesota United acquiring Ecuadorian Romario Ibarra in the summer transfer window. Will this possible signing, and the subsequent competition it will bring, give the Minnesota United attack a spark they have been missing of late? Will we continue to see Alexi Gomez featured with his rumored departure and this new signing? This game might give a look into the future of the MNUFC attack.
