Podcast (June 12, 2018) – Hello Rapids Fans! Welp, this sucks. The Colorado Rapids have now set club records for both consecutive loses in league play and in all competition. Rabbi and Red sit down to make sense of the two losses from last week, the Colorado Rapids losing streak, and how spectacularly terrible the Burgundy Boys are playing right now.

Holding The High Line: Colorado Rapids losing streak therapy

We begin with the least subtle banter in podcast history. The guys try to make sense of the losses last week to Nashville SC and Houston Dynamo. Mark explains how the execution is poor. Matt provides context on how 2018 could end up as the worst season in club history depending on how you look at it and what happens.

The guys then preview the Chicago Fire and how they’re one of the biggest wild cards in MLS right now. Matt gives a shameless plug to his investigative AignerGate piece and an almost viral Twitter thread he had over the weekend. Mark tries to assign slices of Blame Pie to all parties involved AignerGate.

We finish off with Ask HTHL. This team is bad, but we’re here for you, Rapids Fans. Also, Mark thinks #YellowsAtHome is the answer.

Matt Pollard is the Managing Editor of Last Word on Soccer and an engineer by day. A Colorado Convert, he started covering the Colorado Rapids as a credentialed member of the press in 2016, though he’s watched MLS since it started. When he’s not watching or writing about soccer, he’s being an outdoorsman (mostly skiing and hiking) in this beautiful state or trying a new beer. For some reason, he thought that starting a podcast with Mark was a good idea and he can’t figure out how to stop this madness. He also hosts Last Word SC Radio. Mark Goodman, aka the Rapids Rabbi, moved to Colorado in 2011. Shortly thereafter he went to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, saw Lee Nguyen dribble a ball with the silky smoothness of liquid chocolate cascading into a Bar Mitzvah fountain, and promptly fell head over heels in love with domestic soccer. When not watching MLS or coaching U8 soccer, he’s generally studying either Talmud or medieval biblical exegesis. Which explains why he watches so much MLS, probably. He writes about the Rapids for Around MLS and covers the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the USL for Last Word on Soccer. He also writes for American Soccer Analysis. Follow him on Twitter @rapidsrabbi.
