Holding The High Line Episode 5: Shrug Emojis and a CCL Leg Two Review

We open by talking about jerseys and 90’s fashion (the real hard hitting stuff). The guys do ‘Good Thing, Bad Thing, Big Thing’ on the Leg Two match in Toronto. Mark then leads the way on a bunch of good #AskHTHL questions we got from Rapids Twitter.

We finish off talking MLS broadcasting and briefly talking about the opening weekend of MLS (of which to the Rapids aren’t playing, womp womp).

Holding The High Line with Rabbi and Red is a soccer podcast centered around the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer. The show aims to provide analysis based coverage and commentary of the Pids and have some fun while doing so. We record weekly-ish.

Matt Pollard is the Managing Editor of Last Word on Soccer and engineer by day. A Colorado Convert, he started covering the Colorado Rapids as credentialed member of the press in 2016, though he’s watched MLS since it started. When he’s not watching or writing about soccer, he’s being an outdoorsman (mostly skiing and hiking) in this beautiful state, trying a new beer, or traveling for work. For some reason, he thought starting a podcast with Mark was a good idea and he can’t figure out how to stop this madness. He’s also hosts Last Word SC Radio. Follow him on Twitter here.

Mark Goodman, aka the Rapids Rabbi, moved to Colorado in 2011. Shortly thereafter he went to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, saw Lee Nguyen dribble a ball with the silky smoothness of liquid chocolate cascading into a Bar Mitzvah fountain, and promptly feel head over heels in love with domestic soccer. When not watching MLS or coaching U8 soccer, he’s generally studying either Talmud or medieval biblical exegesis. Which explains why he watches so much MLS, probably. He writes about the Rapids and covers the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the USL for Last Word on Soccer. Follow him on Twitter here.
