“We’re pleased to be able to sign [Dominique Badji for two more years. Dom has quickly established himself as one of the most promising young players in MLS and we’re confident he will play a big role in our future,” said Rapids Sporting Director and Interim General Manager, Pádraig Smith.

He has already set personal records for games, games started, minutes, goals and assists in an MLS season. The 24-year-old still has a chance to meet his self-established goal of 10 goals in a season.

The Senegal native joined the club in 2015 as a fourth round pick in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft. Since then he is third in goal scored in the MLS regular season by a player under the age of 24 (with 17 career goals). Prior to that, the forward played for the Boston University Terriers from 2011-2014. He scored 22 goals and nine assists in 69 games at the college level.
