Champion of Champions Prevew:

Tigres vs CD Guadalajara

After losing the Clausura 2017 tittle to Chivas, Tigres will be looking to get revenge over the Rebano Sagrado. Just like the last final Tigres come into the game as heavy favorites even though they lost to Chivas last time. With the recent acquisition of Enner Valencia from West Ham, Tigres look just as threatening going forwards as ever before. With that said this team isn’t without its gaps, especially in the center of the midfield. It will be interesting to see how RIcardo Ferretti fills the midfield gap left from Guido Pizzaro after his departure. As well as whether or not his team can function with so many stars playing up front. Chivas on the other hand, come into the match with a weakened side. Most of their starting players are either out with the Mexican National Team in this summer’s Gold Cup or injured. Matias Almeyda will have his work cut out for him and will be looking to the youngsters from their youth system to really step-up to the call. With no real signing made by the club so far, many will question Chivas chances to take down this Tigres side. Kick-off time is at 7:45pm PT.

SuperCopa MX Preview:

Queretaro vs America

Club America come into the game as favorites over Queretaro. A game of minimum importance will see Los Gallos Blanco and Las Aguilas mix experience with youth for this game. This will be their final preparation game before the start of the Apertura 2017. Queretaro who qualified for this game after beating Chivas in the Copa MX Apertura final, come looking to upset America and their fans. After their 1-0 loss against Lobos BUAP in their preparation match, Jaime Lozano’s side will be looking to demonstrate their capacity. Meanwhile, America qualified thanks to their arch rivals. Since Chivas became the Clausura 2017 champions they automatically qualify for the Champion of Champions cup match, and since America made the most points out of all the teams in the Copa MX competitions, it means they qualify to play this game. America come into this match looking to pick up their form after losing 2-0 to Morelia in preseason. With the incorporation of their star striker Oribe Peralta, who opted out of a long vacation to be with the squad during preseason, America will have mostly a full strengthen squad. Miguel Herrera will use this game to define his final starting eleven and whether or not the team needs a new signing. Kick-off time is at 2:30pm PT.
