New York Red Bulls Player Grades vs. Real Salt Lake

Luis Robles: B+

Robles was outstanding again. Making a couple of great saves to preserve the clean sheet for the Red Bulls. Luis Robles is making an early case to be up for Goalkeeper of the Year once again.

Tyler Adams: B+

This was a great performance out of the 18 year old. Getting the nod over Sean Davis in this one Adams certainly made the most of his opportunity.  He forced multiple turnovers in the middle and used his speed to make a number of solid recover runs. After this showing, Adams has certainly made a case to be in the Starting XI next week for the Red Bulls. Jesse Marsch will certainly have a tough choice to make.

Connor Lade: B-

Red Bull supporters were certainly excited to see Connor Lade back on the field Saturday. He clearly showed what the Red Bulls had been missing out of their fullbacks. He showed great ability to contribute going forward, while still being able to recover and defend. Although Lade is not 90 minutes fit, he may have found himself back in the Starting XI next week as well.

Alex Muyl: C+

This was a much better performance from Muyl. He won quite a few tackle in the midfield and was a workhorse as he always is. Muyl also put on quite the dribbling display, dancing through defenders on several occasions. However, he is still lacking the touch in the final third. Muyl on several occasions sent crosses way past his waiting teammates in the box.

Bradley Wright-Phillips: C

BWP may not want to look at the tape of this game. He had several glaring misses this game that would have easily won it for the Red Bulls. The first, was a free header in the first half that he sent well wide of the goal. The next, was late in the second half where his touch around the keeper put it too far in front of him. This allowed for the RSL defender to recover and force a goal kick. BWP has one goal in four games so far this season.
