Springboks beat the Lions

In a very tense Test match in the Cape Town Stadium, the Springboks beat the Lions for the second week in a row, to take the series two games to 0ne.

It was a fairy tale story for Morne Steyn, who kicked the winning penalty. Remarkably, he performed the same feat in 2009, kicking the winning penalty at the end of the game.

This was a remarkable series victory for the Springboks. Aside from their win against Georgia in the leadup to the leadup to the series against British and Irish Lions, their last game was their 32-12 victory against England in the 2019 Rugby World Cup final. They missed the services of bruising number 8 Duane Vermeulen as well as giant lock RG Snyman for the entire series, as well as inspirational plays such as Faf de Klerk and Pieter-Steph du Toit in the decider.
