George Skivington confirmed that the Italian number eight is likely to be out for a number of “months” following a nasty knee injury in Italy’s game last weekend.
The scan was completed in Italy and they are awaiting full results in the coming days for the full diagnosis.
“He’s working through his rehab well,” said Skivington, but he remains to be weeks away from a return to action.
“He’s got a good while yet, probably around four weeks or so, maybe five or six weeks, maybe three.”
“He’s back training,” explained Skivington, who’ll be relieved at such news following Polledri’s injury.
“He’s coming on nicely and not a million miles away from returning,” said the Head Coach.
Gloucester signing joining next week
The news of Ollie Atkins’ arrival at Kingsholm will be merry news for Gloucester fans, but he won’t join up with the team until next week, after he goes through Covid protocols.
He also confirmed that there were no plans to bring anyone else on board, unless the coaching team require long term cover for Polledri.
“We haven’t got anymore set plans to bring anybody in.”
GS on any more signings.
