Cameron Terry elated with senior debut

Having scored the opening try on his debut Terry said ”It was a great feeling, but we couldn’t have got there without all of us pushing over. We got there and I just trundled over so it’s a team try more than anything. It’s surreal to run out infront of 12,000 people, it’s something I dreamed of as a kid. Watching the legends of Gloucester play, it’s always something I wanted to do and make it come true.

I never thought I was going to be able to do so to make it happen is unreal. There’s a lot more pressure than I thought there was going to be. You feel a lot of nerves and a lot of pressure.

To stick on the Gloucester badge it’s unreal.”

It took Terry around eight minutes to open his Gloucester account, which helped him ease his nerves, saying ”It helped a lot, to get five points on the board, to be five points up against Wasps who are a very strong side so to have that to settle the nerves and settle into the game more helped.”

Terry focusing on own develop above Cup run

When asked about his aim’s in the Premiership Rugby Cup this season Terry said ”I’ve just got to keep working and keeping showing Whiff [Richard Whiffin], Johan [Ackermann] and David Humphreys what I can do and hopefully my time will come. I’ve been quite lucky to get a chance so early on due to injuries. I’ve taken my opportunity well, I’ve got to keep working in training and if it comes it comes and if it doesn’t I’ve got to keep working on my weaknesses and strengths.”

Life as a Gloucester player

Talking about adjusting to life as a Gloucester player Terry said, ”It’s really fun. It’s something I’ve wanted to do as a kid, so I’m in five days a week, gyming and playing rugby and just thankful for the opportunity. We’ve had more gym sessions in the week now. There’s a lot more emphasis on strength now as we’re playing against men, not 18 year olds like I was last season.”

He’ll be looking to continue his good form next Friday as Gloucester travel to Ashton Gate to face the Bristol Bears.
