Hallum Amos helped Wales claim a historic Georgian victory by scoring the games only try in a performance that saw dogged forward play take over the match among lots of handling errors.
Wales’ Early Dominance Sets Platform
Rhys Priestland converted an early penalty before an attacking Wales line-out ended with a Hallum Amos try. This was followed swiftly by another attacking line-out but a fantastic cover tackle by Vasil Lobzhanidze denied Alex Cuthbert from adding a second Welsh try.
Amos was also denied a try, the TMO calling him back after a knock-on in the turnover that led to his breakaway score. The resulting scrum saw Georgia win a penalty, which they converted to get themselves on the board.

Both sides traded early penalties with the game breaking down through errors and substitutes coming on to make the contest a seven point game.
The clock went red with Georgia on the attack and following Francis entering the ruck at the side, he saw yellow and a mass of issues followed. Scrums went uncontested with Wales unable to field two fit props.
Georgia kicked for touch from the penalty and worked their way under the posts before giving away a penalty themselves to end the game.

Wales held strong, led by captain Dan Lydiate who claimed the man of the match award.
Georgia looked stern in defence and their set piece was a huge factor from start to finish as expected but they weren’t clinical enough in the red zone and it cost them.
