Sam Cane Out For Six Weeks

Experienced All Blacks flanker Sam Cane will miss the remainder of The Rugby Championship with a hamstring injury.

Cane will likely be out of all rugby for up to six weeks. The incident occurred early in the second half of the All Blacks 57-22 victory over Argentina in Hamilton. Cane hyper extended his leg during a battle for possession in the ruck.

The All Blacks have yet to confirm the severity of the injury, but coach Steve Hansen says that the timing is unfortunate.

We will have to wait and see, but he is in a lot of pain and that is never a good sign when you have a hamstring injury.

Matt Todd Called In, Ardie Savea To Start

Canterbury flanker Matt Todd has been called into the squad and will likely warm the bench. Todd has played three matches for the All Blacks since making his debut in 2013.

In terms of the starting role, Ardie Savea will slot into Cane’s place. Savea has performed well off the bench for the All Blacks and once again impressed against Argentina last weekend.
