{"id":99864,"date":"2021-09-04T06:14:17","date_gmt":"2021-09-04T10:14:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/?p=99864"},"modified":"2021-09-04T06:14:17","modified_gmt":"2021-09-04T10:14:17","slug":"waka-tsukiyama-stardom-debut","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2021\/09\/04\/waka-tsukiyama-stardom-debut\/","title":{"rendered":"Waka Tsukiyama Makes Stardom Debut"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The world of Stardom is never quiet for long.\u00a0 Just one week after a massively newsworthy event that included the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2021\/08\/29\/stardom-news-hazuki-returns\/\" target=\"_self\">shocking return of\u00a0<strong>Hazuki<\/strong><\/a>, Waka Tsukiyama made her Stardom debut just a few weeks after leaving\u00a0<strong>Actwres girl&#8217;Z<\/strong>.\u00a0 Tsukiyama is not the only former AWG talent to make the move to Stardom recently as\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2021\/08\/13\/mai-sakurai-joins-cosmic-angels\/\" target=\"_self\">Mai Sakurai<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>also made a similar switch.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">5\u2605STAR GP2021<br \/>Sept 4 Shinjuku<br \/>\u25c6Waka Tsukiyama announced that she will be wrestling from now on in Stardom.<\/p>\n<p>Unagi Sayaka came out and challenged her to try and take Unagi\u2019s Future of Stardom title. She also said \u201cYou\u2019re not joining Cosmic Angels, don\u2019t even think about it!\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/btKLUGUH27\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pic.twitter.com\/btKLUGUH27<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; We Are Stardom (@we_are_stardom) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/we_are_stardom\/status\/1434068352092180490?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">September 4, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>A familiar scene played out during Tsukiyama&#8217;s debut as she announced her intentions to compete in Stardom before being interrupted by Future of Stardom champion\u00a0<strong>Unagi Sayaka<\/strong>.\u00a0 Sayaka offered Tsukiyama a shot at her Future of Stardom title, which she did to Sakurai during Sakurai&#8217;s debut, and let Tsukiyama know that she isn&#8217;t joining the Cosmic Angels.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Tam Nakano\u00a0<\/strong>may have something to say about that, however.<\/p>\n<p>Waka Tsukiyama is another interesting signing from Stardom, she only debuted in September 2020 for AWG and was mostly known for her gimmick which endeared her to fans of ChocoPro during her appearances there.\u00a0 Stardom will likely take away her gimmick and force the rookie to rely solely on her in-ring skills which could lead to some growing pains.\u00a0 STARS seems like a good fit faction-wise for Tsukiyama who will likely be on the babyface side of things, although the likelihood of her joining the Cosmic Angels can&#8217;t be ignored.<\/p>\n<p>Stay tuned to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/\" target=\"_self\">Last Word on Pro Wrestling<\/a>\u00a0for more on this and other stories from around the world of wrestling as they develop.
