He’s almost always involved in the junior heavyweight division. Since 2018, he won the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship two more times. Suzuki has also been part of a successful faction known as STINGER. This was, until Kotaro Suzuki was kicked out before joining Los Perros del Mal De Japon. It’s important to note that Suzuki was kicked out of STINGER by Yoshinari Ogawa and HAYATA.

HAYATA would become one of the major focuses of STINGER, including playing a bigger role in the hierarchy of the faction. He replaced Kotaro Suzuki in STINGER’s tag team scene. HAYATA would eventually win the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship by defeating Atsushi Kotoge. He would face off against rival YO-HEY and even Ikuto Hidaka. Meanwhile, Kotaro Suzuki started to get relaxed.

The N-1 Victory Looming

Since the reign of HAYATA began, Kotaro Suzuki has shown a new focus in NOAH. This new focus brought him into NOAH’s elite heavyweight tournament known as the N-1 Victory. This tournament featured the greatest heavyweight wrestlers in the world. Suzuki stood out in this second-ever N-1 Victory. However, unfinished business followed Suzuki. The reign of HAYATA reminded him of his failures.

Kotaro Suzuki will battle HAYATA for the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship at the upcoming NOAH Jr. YOKOHAMA OVATION event. For HAYATA, the goal is to continue the stranglehold that he has on the junior division. For Suzuki, it’s something more. Suzuki noted that he wanted to give the younger talent a chance. For a tournament like the N-1 Victory, he would like to enter the tournament as GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion and represent the juniors. He also has revenge on his mind, going after his fellow partner.

Hayata vs Kotaro Suzuki – In Closing

If Kotaro Suzuki wins, he will break Daisuke Harada‘s 4 reigns and be 2nd place in most GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship reigns in history. On the other hand, if HAYATA wins, he will take out someone who brought him into STINGER, proving that it was the right decision to kick him out.

HAYATA could prove that he’s the best junior heavyweight in the scene, in one of the most important matches of his reign and career. Will HAYATA retain his championship or will Kotaro Suzuki walk into the N-1 Victory as GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion? We will find out that answer at NOAH Jr. YOKOHAMA OVATION!

Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on this and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
