Almas defeated fan favorite<strong> Drew McIntyre<\/strong>, and the pulse on social media is divided. While almost everybody agree Almas is an excellent performer, lots of fans think that he doesn&#8217;t deserve to carry the prestigious title, calling him the first \u201ctransitional\u201d champion on NXT &#8211; many believe\u00a0<strong>Adam Cole<\/strong> is the number one contender, taking the lead for the championship at the next<em><strong> Takeover<\/strong><\/em>. Drew McIntyre was expected to take a good run as a champion since he came with great fanfare from his indy run and dethroned the Glorious One, <strong>Bobby Roode<\/strong>, a thing which the fandom was okay with, despite the favoritism Roode had.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_9947\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9947\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-9947\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/11\/Screen_Shot_2017_11_18_at_9_42_06_PM_0-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-9947\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: WWE Network<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3><strong>El Idolo<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Internet wrestling communities vary\u00a0depending the country. It&#8217;s quite notorious that Andrade\u00a0Almas\u00b4 victory over Drew McIntyre (a well known performer since he came to M\u00e9xico on his first run at WWE) was taken with positive reactions by the retracted Mexican fandom, who took\u00a0his previous\u00a0losing streak as a humiliating run for Almas. The complaints were consistently\u00a0about how WWE was wasting the talent of the man formerly known as<strong> La Sombra<\/strong>. But comments on his posts got from messages that call him a &#8220;wasted talent&#8221; (and ask for a return at Arena M\u00e9xico) to people just having fun at his expense because he was being paired with <strong>Zelina Vega<\/strong>, talking for him with Andrade Almas acting like a silent hand.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_9940\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9940\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-9940\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/11\/030_NXT_11182017hm_3310-33fb75343b7325895bd10264500b02e0-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"640\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-9940\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: WWE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>But this past Saturday in Houston, Andrade Almas defeated Drew McIntyre in a victory that,\u00a0like <strong>Randy Orton<\/strong>&#8216;s<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>RKO, seemingly came out of nowhere. They were happy for him, celebrating the\u00a0former Ingobernable being champion of the prestigious brand. Some others, the harshest detractors, suddenly\u00a0seemed to lose internet services since Sunday and silently lurk for the day Andrade \u201cCien\u201d Almas loses the championship to spit venom again.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Ingobernable<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_9946\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9946\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-9946\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/11\/20170517_nxt_andradealmas-3e1acb8f6d173569331057b346bcb65f_0_0-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-9946\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: WWE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>One thing is true: A big number of fans don\u2019t really follow NXT, and as such, a big number of the Mexican fandom trashes WWE (for several reasons, but that could be a whole other article).
