A replacement opponent was selected in the form of Carmella, much to the chagrin of fans in attendance at Allegiant Stadium. Belair took to the mic, making it clear that she would face Banks in the future. Before the official could call for the bell, the WWE Universe and professional wrestling world at large were shocked. At <em>SummerSlam<\/em>, <strong>Becky Lynch<\/strong> made her return to a raucous ovation from the crowd. After soaking in the adulation from the audience, &#8220;The Man&#8221; dumped Carmella out of the ring, cementing herself as &#8220;The EST&#8217;s&#8221; new <em>SummerSlam<\/em> opponent. On the episode of <strong>Monday Night Raw<\/strong> following the <strong><em>Money in the Bank<\/em><\/strong> pay-per-view, Lynch relinquished the Raw Women&#8217;s Championship. This brought out <strong>Asuka<\/strong>, who had won the Women&#8217;s <em>Money in the Bank<\/em> Ladder Match the night prior. Lynch revealed to Asuka that her victory wasn&#8217;t for an opportunity for a championship match; rather, it was for the championship itself. Asuka was awarded the Raw Women&#8217;s Championship. Shortly thereafter, Lynch <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2021\/05\/11\/becky-lynch-announcement-one-year-later\/\" target=\"_self\">revealed her pregnancy<\/a>, resulting in &#8220;The Man&#8221; taking an extended leave of absence from the company.<\/p>\n<p>Lynch&#8217;s title victory over Belair at <em>SummerSlam<\/em> quickly became the subject of criticism among wrestling fans. To many, the match was too short, especially considering how long WWE fans were waiting for Becky Lynch to return, either at <em>SummerSlam<\/em> or otherwise. It would seem that Lynch is SmackDown-bound following tonight&#8217;s events.
