Allegiant Stadium was packed to the top Saturday night as it was time for WWE’s second-biggest show of the year — SummerSlam<\/em><\/strong>. The company put all their efforts forward to make this show resemble WrestleMania<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0<\/em>With the biggest main event match in years going down and a massive return that shocked the world, were they able to deliver? Here are the SummerSlam<\/em> results for a special Saturday night edition of “The Biggest Party of the Summer.”<\/p>\n

Universal Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs. John Cena<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Roman Reigns<\/strong> versus John Cena<\/strong> is a spectacle in itself. These two never needed to lock horns for the fans to be jumping out of their seats. That being said, once these two completed their entrances, it was go time. Cena attempted to use roll-ups, small packages, and schoolboy pins to stun Reigns in the ring to show him that all he needs is three. In time, Reigns began to dominate. “The Head of the Table” was showing Cena as to why he has been the Universal Champion for almost a year. It was easier to call it annihilation at times the way Cena could not find offense. But as Cena manages to do in all of his biggest matches, he showed the fight that made you believe number 17 was on the way.<\/p>\n

An Attitude Adjustment to Reigns got the first shock of the night as the champion barely kicked out. Back and forth they began after this, trading massive move after massive move. Cena would get hit a second Attitude Adjustment on Reigns through the announce table, giving yet another near fall with the crowd last it. It was about survival at times for Cena, but every opportunity to hit a big move made the crowd believe the title would change.\u00a0 It was the Super Attitude Adjustment from the top of the rope that made the world think it was over and Cena was the winner. Nope. It was not it. Roman Reigns kicked out and all signs pointed to him winning again. In the end, Cena would get too confident as he would do the Reigns pose in the middle to go for a Spear.<\/p>\n

One wrong move allowed Reigns to hit the Spear and end the match. It was everything that you could have hoped for out of the SummerSlam main event. Two men who have been known as the face of WWE at certain times came together to put on the ultimate battle people could only dream of. It felt as though it was like Batman versus Superman, tossing back and forth in a battle where you almost wanted both to win. In the end, Reigns walked out the winner (as he should have) and the surprise of the night makes for an exciting future for “The Tribal Chief.”<\/p>\n
