In 2021 alone, Rose has won 18 of her 25 matches this year. In her last 10 matchups, Rose has won 9. Calling her “undeniable” will be criminally understating her dominance. Rose, undoubtedly, deserves the top spot in the AEW rankings and a shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship. This woman is a wrecking machine and it will be hard to find a competitor willing to face her let alone beat her in singles competition. Vickie Guerrero has played a huge part in rebuilding, reestablishing, and, redirecting the focus of Rose back to reclaiming the Women’s title. The moment Guerrero entered the picture, Rose has found her second wind and newfound aggression we never thought possible.

On Baker’s first Dynamite as the new women’s champion, Rose pounced immediately at the opportunity to make a statement throwing her hat into the conversation of contenders. Shortly thereafter, Rose laid waste to anyone and everyone who dared to stand in her way, leaving a path of bodies along the way. Rose can also proudly say that she is the only competitor to hand “The Doctor” her first official singles loss all year when she beat her in the semi-finals of the AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator Tournament. She has also put the champion through a table after beating her and her partner Rebel with Vickie Guerrero in tag team action. Nyla Rose is 2-0 and against Baker this year. Come Wednesday night, will the nature of the beast come full circle making it 3-0 and securing the AEW Women’s World Championship that comes along with it?

That’s cute.

The Dallas crowd after I win.

D👇🏻M👇🏻D👇🏻 https://t.co/eXs0SgY1KK pic.twitter.com/wbULdcF4Ag

— Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. (@RealBrittBaker) July 13, 2021

The Champion: Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.

Britt Baker was, is, and, will be the cornerstone of the AEW women’s division for many years to come. She solidified this by beating and ending the historic one-year reign of Hikaru Shida back at this year’s Double Or Nothing pay-per-view. Baker finally achieved a lifelong dream of being the undisputed champion and number one women’s competitor in All Elite Wrestling. Baker and her arch-rival Thunder Rosa made history in their Unsanctioned “Lights Out match” that headlined St. Patrick’s Day Slam.

This match was historic in many ways, a game-changer if you will. This was a significant turning point that put the AEW women’s division on the map and Baker was a huge part of it. She went through hell and back to prove to everyone that she is indeed the real deal. She didn’t succumb to adversity. Whether it was injuries or failing to win the women’s championship in her initial attempt against first-ever champion Riho, Britt has remained laser-focused. That drive to be the best ultimately paid off.

Much like her challenger, Baker breathed new life into her career and has not looked back ever since. With that being said, this is only the beginning. Britt Baker has stated that she is here to stay. Title or no title, she’s the hottest commodity AEW has to offer. Fortunately for her, the AEW Women’s World Championship is indeed in her possession and she’s not going down without a fight. Anyone who tries to pry it away from her will have one hell of a time doing so, even if it’s Nyla Rose. Baker would confidently go on to say that when she beats Rose on night two of Fyter Fest, she’s not only sending her to the back of the line but to obscurity. She further stated that “Baker: D.M.D.” is not only a statement but a long-term promise.

The #AEW Women's Champion @RealBrittBaker and @NylaRoseBeast are ready to collide in Dallas next week!

Tune into @tntdrama NOW to watch #AEWDynamite #FyterFest LIVE! pic.twitter.com/s59T7SIfSK

— All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) July 15, 2021

“The Doctor” versus “The Native Beast”: Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. vs. Nyla Rose for the AEW Women’s World Championship

On a very special edition of AEW Dynamite, both women will have a chip on their shoulders. Nyla Rose will have only one thing on her mind: reclaiming the title she once held so dear and making history as the first-ever 2x AEW Women’s World Champion. Britt Baker, on the other hand, is out to once again reiterate all she has said over the past year. She’s the best and no one even comes close, and that this first title defense will just be the first of many to come in her reign,

Nyla Rose has the overwhelming power advantage and championship experience compared to the champion. However, calling Baker the quintessential “underdog” in this matchup would be understating the skill and willingness of Baker to endure anything and everything that will be thrown at her. As evidenced by her “Lights Out” match, Baker is tough and will not be an easy opponent to beat, despite the odds presented before her.

It only takes one Beast Bomb from Rose to end the proceedings. However, if Baker manages to outsmart and outmaneuver “The Native Beast” and clamp in the devastating Lockjaw submission, she just might put the monster out of commission in no time at all. Fyter Fest Night Two will be a can’t-miss event considering this matchup will be a bonified slugfest from bell to bell.

Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on this and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
