Make <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MDMTedDiBiase?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@MDMTedDiBiase<\/a> proud. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/NXTTakeOver?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#NXTTakeOver<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/a090DpuKga\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pic.twitter.com\/a090DpuKga<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; WWE NXT (@WWENXT) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WWENXT\/status\/1404246144675368960?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">June 14, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>This kicks off a potentially interesting new run for the Million Dollar title which debuted all the way back in 1989 and became synonymous with the &#8220;Million Dollar Man&#8221; <strong>Ted DiBiase<\/strong>.\u00a0 The bling-filled championship was a perfect prop for the rich man and became a great addition to his already hated character.\u00a0 The title would eventually be retired in 1992 until it was brought back in 1995 when DiBiase himself awarded the championship to <strong>The Ringmaster<\/strong>, who many know today as &#8220;Stone Cold&#8221; Steve Austin!\u00a0 Ringmaster abandoned the title in 1996 and it wasn&#8217;t seen again until DiBiase Jr. was also awarded it by DiBiase.<\/p>\n<p>Continuing with tradition, it was Ted DiBiase himself who announced<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2021\/06\/08\/million-dollar-championship-nxt\/\" target=\"_self\"> the return of the championship<\/a> and put it on the line between Knight and Grimes, two men who have recently been vying for his attention.\u00a0 Knight, who recently came into money himself, makes for the perfect person to carry on the lineage of the Million Dollar Championship.<\/p>\n<p><em>Stay tuned to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/\" target=\"_self\">Last Word on Pro Wrestling<\/a>\u00a0for more on this and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
