A reasonable yet daunting task. Everyone who entered this match had a legitimate chance to become the NXT Champion, but defeating Karrion Kross has proven to not be something anyone can do. All five men gave their best here. Kross was the monster who delivered a unique powerful side while Johnny Gargano and Adam Cole channeled their NXT Champion version of themselves. Kyle O’Reilly and Pete Dunne used their technical prowess to get them ahead. The beauty of this match was that everyone offered something else and it created an absolute blast from beginning to end.

It would be easier to watch than describe, but the end saw everyone nearly win the match. Dunne hit the Bitter End on Kross but was only enough for a two count. Cole hit the Last Shot as well, but it was broken up. As O’Reilly managed to lock on the Heel Hook, it was nearing the end as Cole was seconds away from tapping out. Kross got back into it and locked on the Kross Jacket submission, putting O’Reilly to sleep to retain his championship. This was exactly what you would have hoped for in a TakeOver main event and left the biggest question of all to be answered — who defeats Kross? Time will tell, but this was a blast.

More from LWOS Pro Wrestling

Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on this and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
